Most important thing you have to remember. Do not create any hostile environment with your current company/boss. You'll never know when you need them in future smile.gif

Make sure to touch on:
- tell him the whole truth that you got a better offer
- you enjoyed working in this company, but times are hard and the other job is offering a higher pay
- make sure you thank your boss for letting you join his/her company in the first place
- shake hands (this might not seem important, but it relates to courtesy and a gesture of 'no hard feelings' or 'no offense intended to you')

I have same situation with you, maybe worst....i also going to resign after working for 3 months, but the situation is when last time my boss interview me, he mentioned that he want to hire someone who will work together with the company for years because it's time consuming to hire and train another new ppl, somemore all their project are very urgent, if the employee simply left, it will burden other ppl's work. So, that time he want me to promise him i will work at least one year at this company (although without black and white)......Therefore, i promised him.....
But now, i get a better job and better offer, i hope to leave..........
What can i do now? will my boss very angry if i resign ?
should i tell him directly i get a new offer?
pls advice..... blush.gif

Ask him to do like japan, offer super duper high salary to employee. I am sure u wont quit if he offer you 2-3 x higher salary compare to other companies and better working environment, if he cant, ask him to stop bu115h1+, all companies dont like to train fresh, but if they cant offer higher salary, what can they do ? Tell them to stay or I will be angry ? Or if u quit, i wont hire anymore ? Or If u quit i dont befriend you ? Thats nothing you can do if u cant offer, its very realistic. Btw unless there are contracts, which offer at higher rate of salary to keep some1, else u may leave as you want.

Your situation seem difficult as you have promise him. If you don't mind how he think about you then leave, else stay.

dont beat around the bushes...

just tell your boss the truth.. like everyone else says here.. you'll never know that one day in the future maybe opportunity comes back to your current company and u might need them ...
always leave a pleasant impression from your boss even when you are leaving...

i guess it's the least you can do when u are actually leaving, dont be sneaky..

i agree with everyone.
stay or leave. since you have better offer, just let your boss know about it and tell him the reason u leave like a gentleman. there're no hard feelings when comes to work. tat's what i told my staff, if u r not happy working, let the management know and if the problem still cont and u have better offer, let us know n prepare. fair for u fair for us.
i'm too facing problem like ur current company. train them n they leave; get better offer from what we've produced them. but that's life; i do have loyal staff for more then 5 years which they have LOVED the company but new freshies always seek for big $$$ rather then exposure. so it's either you want to gain better expirience in your field of intreast career or to get high $$$. some leave for better career some leave for better $$$. at a working level, you must love and enjoy what u r doing.. that's abt it

Tell the truth, but not the "complete" truth. You can tell your boss you are getting a new offer with better future prospect and learning ground. What i mean by "Complete" truth is like you are getting higher pay in other company, your current job/company/boss face/colleague/salary is sux, and etc.

Say thank your to your boss, for giving you chance to work at the organization. Tell him that although it is a short period, you have learnt a great deal of things. All the helps are appreciated and will keep to your heart all the advices from him/her.

Inform your colleagues one week/month before you leave, so they can prepare and take over your job. Of course, you can choose not to tell anyone, and quietly sneak away on your last day, but this will leave shock to your colleague, create a bad impression to yourself, makes rumour that you are sacked/not performing well, and makes the life of the person who is going to take over your job miserable.

By doing all these things, you are creating a goodwill to your boss and colleagues.
Who knows you might need their help again in the future. Do you think your boss are willing to help you, if last time you said his face is like baboon when you resigned? rclxub.gif

Your image is remained professional and you can leave with style and head up. smile.gif
