Few days ago i posted on the phone recommend thread but unfortunately i did not get any suggestions, so im thinking to post mine here and also ask a few questions, forgive me if my question is a little bit dumb as im not a person who fancy gadgets

my budget is around 1.5k, what windows phone can i get?
preferable good camera and battery life as i often go outstation, other specs are fine
i googled some of the phones and it came into my attention that, there are microsoft XL and nokia phones, aren't they under the same company?
Also if my budget is above 2k, what phones i can get with that money? i just want to know about the latest windows phone as i am so confuse with the phone names.

It seems like the popularity of this section is much lesser compare to android sections.

Do you have any preference on screen size?

If you want the latest models, it's better to wait 2-3 months for the launch of Windows 10 Mobile, when there will be new flagships. These will be announced in September, though most of the details are leaked already.

screen size is not my priority, but preferable not too big like samsung note type. I just want to know the current latest model, cause the name is so confusing for example lumia 920 seems to be more later than 1520, my budget is around 1.5k

Lumia 930 is the current flagship and should be within your budget. I can't speak for battery on this particular model. I can say that Windows phones generally have better battery life than Android models.

And yes Nokia and Microsoft Lumias are all from Microsoft. The Microsoft branding is used on all the newer models, the Nokia branding appears from models released prior to this year.

at the moment, better to wait for W10 to be stable on mobile devices.

but if you really cannot wait, good camera phones are those lumias with carl zeiss optics.

yes, microsoft did took over nokia earlier this year and that's why newer phones all carry microsoft name. you have nokia lumia and later microsoft lumia.

there is no new flagship released this year, Microsoft is waiting for Windows 10 for phone to be ready before releasing another flagship. While Microsoft bought Nokia, phone released before that(and still selling) still uses Nokia's name, new phones starting 2014 change the name from Nokia Lumia to Microsoft Lumia, the numbering are still the same.

Their last flagship, the Lumia 930 is well in your 1.5k budget. Unlike Android, Windows Phone are very resource efficient, you don't need to spend over 1k to get a smooth experience if that is what you are thinking about. However, if you are thinking of going over 2k, there is the Lumia 1520 which is a very large phone with a very good camera.

using Lazada as a reference, the 1520

i heard from the fellow forumers here that nokia 940 might be more expensive than an iphone, that's why i don't feel the worth to wait as it is out of my budget, 930 looks good might go for a shop this weekend

bought my 930 last week from direct D, first impression of the OS is smoothness, to be honest i prefer the tiles than the android icons, although android looks like eagle view you can see every icon on the menu, but from my user experience, windows is much better cause the tiles is bigger and also the apps is very well arranged in alphabetical orders. Cool resolution, good camera, worth the money as i only pay RM 1.4k for it.
