To everyone that does not know whats going on.
Sungai Wang was sold to Singaporeans long time ago.

The reason why a lot of empty lots in Sg Wang now is because of GST and high rental. No shop in the area can afford to pay GST by selling RM5-25 clothes. Once you reason the high rental there, even though they don't make money, LHDN will make you pay tax based on your ability to pay rental alone. That is why so many shops tapau. Soda Jeans managed only slightly 6 months after downsizing from 2 shops to 1 shops. All other RM5-25 clothes shops basically closed after chinese new year. The majority closed on GST month.
Some shops from BB Plaza moved to Times Square. Most closed for good. Like Metrojaya. The place is being redeveloped.
Times Square is now part owned by Johor Sultan.

Occupancy in Times Square is quite high. It is the new Sg Wang. It is also the new hang out for most of the rempit who used to hang out around outside McDonalds & Sg Wang. Their hangout now is outside the junction of Imbi plaza, Low Yat & Times Square bridge where there are food carts.
