I miss Sega Planet at SG Wang.

Iirc, the outlet at Sg. Wang was called Sega Satellite, while at Sunway Pyramid was called Sega City (bigger).
In addition to the usual arcade machines, got Virtual Reality headsets/machines (forgot permanent or temporary, only tried once), the red almost full-sized car (what racing game was that already?), .... while at Sega City got the Mechwarrior machines/booth. Outside Sg. Wang, near main entrance, there was a similar full immersion game machine for a while, right?

QUOTE(lowyard @ Feb 18 2016, 12:29 AM)
Favourite place to go buy playstation stuff back in the days.
*
Yeap, cheapest was ... err ... RM3 if buy in bulk of 10 DVDs. Got two bigger stalls at the back with more customers, coz their service were nicer n more knowledgeable about the games (one was a leng chai).

At first, I don't like Sg. Wang layout; if wanna go up or down a floor, gotta go all the way round ... then got used to the middle staircase near the back, faster, can go straight to the IT floor, when pass-by the magazine store sure browse for sold-for-cheaper-not-new gaming magazines.

IIRC It was a fighter plane game, the cabinet was spherical and could rotate 360 degrees smile.gif

this is due to the constructions outside. very troublesome to go to sg wang. if i take bus and stop at the bus stop near menara genesis, i have to walk very long way to go around the construction. so people dont really go there now.

SG WAng is Sega Satellite... was supposed to have all the latest SEGA arcade games,

Then Sega CITY which supposed to have all the larger game units...

Sega Universe/Planet was planned... it was supposed to be a theme park based on sega characters and games... but sega went bust before that happenned... not to mentioned that the sega satellite was filled with non sega games as other arcade center decided to pitch in on the high volume of arcaders that time.

now it's all gambling den.

every CNY my dad would bring me there in secret to buy me toys... and i celebrated milenium (y2000) there as well..

i got my first job in bb plaza after form 5.

and someone complained that walking from genesis was far... damn pussy... i used to walk to/from swiss garden hotel as there was where my bus stopped. and we used to work from 8am - 10.30pm... with 2 shifts

only during the 1997 recession they started to change to policy to save electricity and operational costs to 10am-9pm
