Greetings People,
I am new in this forum and this would be my first post. It is interesting to read about what you guys have been talking about. I would like to be here more often and give my thoughts too.
I am a part time magician and you can visit my personal website at www.zlwin.com or my magic portfolio at www.zlwinmagic.blogspot.com
By the way, is there other reviews about Tarantula? Is the IT system hard to use and set up? Because the video promo of Trantula did not show the beginning of the trick, it only shows the middle and the ending. Who knows what they are trying to hide in the beginning. Maybe the setting up is pretty hard. Well, they are just my thoughts.
Hope to hear from you guys soon =)
Cheers!

QUOTE(Grajindo @ Mar 17 2009, 03:48 PM) glad to see there's another magician here..welcome Added on March 17, 2009, 3:02 pmbtw, zlwin, you look familiar to me... did you go to last year magic festival at genting highlands and joined jeff mcbride's lecture? lol.. I think you must have mistaken me for someone else haha. No I wasn't at the festival nor was I at his lecture. Was it last year or two years ago? Too bad there won't be such festivals in Genting anymore.

QUOTE(Enigmatic @ Mar 17 2009, 06:24 PM) Hey Zlwin, lol, nice seeing you around. I know you but I guess you shouldn't know who I am though. xD Hello Enigmatic. Nice nick and nice acronym you have there haha. I may know you but I do not know you by your nick name. Mind introducing? =) Added on March 19, 2009, 3:59 pmQUOTE(manarze @ Mar 17 2009, 10:53 PM) yeah...i nid some beginners trick 2...any suggestion?? Get a copy of Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic. Or if you are adventurous, get Tarbel's Course in Magic. But the former one is very good for beginngers as well as intermediates. It contains alot of wonderful effects from cards to coins to cups and balls to silk to ropes to even Stage Illusions. If you want very good and solid card magic effects, get a copy of the Royal Road to Card Magic. That should help a great lot =) This post has been edited by Zlwin Chew: Mar 19 2009, 03:59 PM

QUOTE(wen_loong7 @ Mar 17 2009, 05:59 PM) btw here is a quick video of me performing tarantula.. sorry perform without baju just back from college..still need alot of pratise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVlm9Y4hmvMHaha... sorry perform without fully pratise. Haha. Put on a shirt next time please. =) As I mentioned, we do not get to see the set up. The full routine from start to beginning. Because it may be easy to perform it but to get from the starting point mechanics to the ending is not yet shown by anyone on YouTube yet. They only show the few seconds before the ring is floating. How about when the ring is on the spectator's hand and then you approach them and take the ring and do your funny stuff and then float? The part where they take the ring and attach the IT to it is the crucial point that I believe should be reviewed. If it is easy to do the attachment of IT to the ring then it would prove to be a good buy. However if to attach the IT is hard and requires so very funny and unusual movements of your hands and fingers, then it should be considered further. Hope you can help me out with this because I (like many others) would like to get that effect too. Thank you =)

QUOTE(wen_loong7 @ Mar 26 2009, 05:19 PM) Pressure ?? Yeah.. interesting trick.. but i can figure it out even before released.. try with a balloon.. anyway can get good response when perform it.. Haha. Pressure is a nice effect. I figured it out the moment I saw it. However this does not prove that I am smart or anything la. Still need to get the tutorial to know more about the inner mechanics. But I love the effect. Simple yet strong and cheap haha.

QUOTE(manarze @ Mar 26 2009, 05:36 PM) can i ask bout pases??which pass its de most effective?? There are a lot of kind of passes. You can check out Ellusionist's Ninja Series to know more about the mechanics. Basically, if you can direct your audience's attention away from your hand, you will not have to worry about which pass is good and which is invisible and which is not. And if you do your pass on an offbeat, your audience will not catch you. You do not have to necessary do the pass right under their nose and asking them to watch you. You do not have to do that. For me personally, that is not very magical because they will be able to see that your hand was a little funny there. This will take away the magical moment for them. Just my thoughts. Hope it helps =)

QUOTE(bethamoth @ Mar 27 2009, 03:21 AM) i have some magic items for sale..come on and check it up What are you selling? Where can we view the items? Added on March 27, 2009, 1:52 pmQUOTE(rogershah @ Mar 26 2009, 10:27 PM) i see....i hope it's not too obvious.... ....but i tend to add up some rozzetta shuffles at the end to conceal it.... anyways, thanks for the tip....im planning to do another one of his tricks....the laser deal As Asians, we have small hands, well not all but most of us, including me. Until now, I can never palm a card fully (meaning really out of sight when you look at my hand close up). However when palming, there is of course gap in between my fingers. And if you look intently on it, you can see the card. But then we should not worry about them looking. This is because they do not know that humans can actually palm a card. So they won't be keeping an eagle's eye on your hands. Palm your card on an offbeat and no one will notice. Keep your hands relaxed and natural. Try it =) This post has been edited by Zlwin Chew: Mar 27 2009, 01:52 PM
