It's taken 13 years to get a new Homeworld. And it's taken me weeks to make this video.

QUOTE(garka @ Feb 5 2016, 03:47 PM) My Gaming Youtube Page Here I think the audio levels are a bit inconsistent. Your voice is pretty soft in the latest video. In terms of content I think your Mechwarrior videos do better because it's a niche. Not as many people do videos on it. It's a perfectly fine strategy to focus your new videos on that. You need to practise you presentation. Be more natural and clearer. That's all I can think of now.Hey guys I'm gonna check out and support your channels. I would like to ask a favour. I don't need you to subscribe if you don't want to but i do need you guys to comment to me HERE or PM me and give me your Two Cents on how i can improve and what you think of my channel. It's abit random the games i play but i'm still looking into which way i need to go. So Far Mechwarrior Online is the direction i'm focusing on, since they give me the most views. Except for the DayZ fix. Thanks guys & gals Let me know what you think. |

QUOTE(garka @ Feb 6 2016, 08:53 AM) Thanks for your Comment Frag. I have been trying to make it clearer - I have figured i don't sound natural but i have been trying to improve. Yeap that's what I meant. Each video audio levels very different. And the latest one is to soft. Totally understand. I'm super busy with work as well. I find that commentary on the fly, that's when you record the video and audio together while you're playing the game to be much harder. You have to be pretty good to do that. That's why videos with narration are great for practising your commentary. Since you can read your script and improve it, listen where you're weak and keep improving. Once you've aced that you can naturally move into commentary on the fly. That's my humble opinion though.Audio Level inconsistent? Can Explain bro? Do you mean each video has different volume level? Gonna make another one soon. Hopefully i will improve. Oh Yea. I can't make much videos cause i go offshore to work. 4 Weeks Work and 2 Weeks Off. Not much time to do things. Because the key is to allow yourself to listen to yourself. And see where you can improve. It's sort of like practising a speech really. You can google for voice over tips. The basics are the same as recording VO for commercials etc. See what you can learn from professional VOs. Like this for instance: http://www.videomaker.com/article/c4/15804...ice-over-skills Lastly, have fun. If learning, improving and refining your craft brings great satisfaction to you, you're on the right path. PS: I'm learning as well. Trying to also make my narration clearer and better. QUOTE(garka @ Feb 6 2016, 11:11 AM) I used to do that but the background noise is annoying to record and sometimes hard to remove it. I have no quiet space even in my man cave. Wife & Kids always kacau when i make the videos. And i'm a very forgetful person so i move to script when reviewing something. When you say background noise, you mean other people's voice? That is a bit more work to remove. You can try headset with noise cancellation but I always find noise cancellation muffles the sound a bit. But maybe there are headsets that can do this well.Gonna get a new headset that can eliminate the background sound so i can return to recording on the fly. My first few videos were like that when i was using my G35 headset. |

Spent a day working on a channel trailer. I'm happy with how it is. Not perfect though, but a big improvement. Tell me what you think. I know I messed up near the end.

QUOTE(madman20 @ Feb 13 2016, 08:59 PM) From a casual viewer like myself..all seems fine leh..although I noticed that there's a static noise throughout your introduction..you cleaned up the noise reduction already? Oh wow really. I didn't notice it. Yeah I removed noise already. Will give it another listen and try to set my noise removal value higher a bit.You mean from my voice? And also, are you listening to it with volume at max? This post has been edited by frags: Feb 13 2016, 09:08 PM |

QUOTE(madman20 @ Feb 13 2016, 09:12 PM) Maybe because I was on headphones instead of speakers? Just give it another go and see see..not really max..but my usual hearing volume on my headphones Ok I might know what you're talking about. But it's super faint and very hard to notice. I don't think I can do anything about it. My microphone recording has a lot of static and the little that's left at the background when I speak is hardly audible to me. But I know it's there. The more higher the value I use noise removal via software the more muddled my voice sounds. So it's a bit of a balance. Anyway I know I'll need a new mic for recording... but I'm making do with what I have right now... for a few months at least. Thanks for your feedback anyway. Really appreciate it. You just confirmed to me I really do need a new mic. |

Hey guys and gals, just wanted to ask what file format do you convert your videos to before uploading to YouTube?
This is my latest video with my new mic. I'm quite pleased with the overall quality. But the video quality I believe could be better (especially in the beginning, maybe that part was a movie file and not ingame... i don't really know) and I'm sick so I sounded a little raspy at some point. Any idea what's the optimal format to be used with YouTube? As always, any feedback is much appreciated. |

QUOTE(Dark Taurus @ Feb 24 2016, 05:55 PM) I always use mp4 because overall seems fine for me, but I didn't really go experience many other format. Yeah I believe MP4 is the most optimal. This post has been edited by frags: Feb 24 2016, 09:57 PM |

QUOTE(ZenMmm @ Feb 26 2016, 05:06 PM) I go back and forth between MP4 & H.264 although the 2 belongs to 1 big family, MPEG-4. Well if I got this right, MP4 is a format and H.264 is a video compression codec. I actually use H.264 in MP4 format. I think it depends on your video editor, you should have the option to output to MP4 with H.264. May I know what video editing software do you use? H.264 is an industry standard now for compression codec.Somehow, the former seems to take up more space compared to the latter and quality wise, I can’t really tell the difference; hence, my preference of using both of them, depending on what video I’m working on. BTW your channel is awesome. |

QUOTE(ZenMmm @ Mar 1 2016, 08:12 PM) Yeap, you got that one right! Yeah if you're comfortable with it and it doesn't feel like the video editor limits you then it's fine to continue using it. Btw I'm pretty sure you're more than capable of doing a channel intro. H.264 is just another compression version of MP4, like the many other belonging to the same family. I’m using an old version of Sony Vegas (I got this back in 2007… Yeah, I know… Boh Lui Leh! “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” I saw the new version of Sony Vegas and goodness, there's more addition to it. Thanks and I checked out your intro video, pretty cool stuff. I’m currently trying to come up with one for my channel but I’m stuck! Kinda not sure how to do one. |

I’m still working on the intro though while working on my M.O.R.E series. You know, I checked out your blog and goodness, that’s a lot of work right there, bro! Keep it up, dude! |

Hey guys, doing something a little different. Random plays of video games. With a bit of first impressions. First video is very raw and well... okay maybe it sucks... but I'm doing my best to improve with each video. New video coming out Monday.. OH and have a great long weekend.
