tried to call in to get annual fee waived for CB Plat, CS told me either downgrade to choice or take personal loan for 5k to waive...

I'm not sure what's their criteria for waiver but got it done last year, this year tightening up perhaps. Have always settled promptly and no outstanding every month still can't waive.

I'm a perfect paymaster yet still didn't get the annual fees waived, though usage per month is only still below 1k a month.

When I cancelled a couple of months ago, the CS keep saying mine is not entitled for waiver, its a Cash Back Plat.

When I asked what is the criteria, was just told they have a system to analyze and says system shows not eligible, asks to take personal loan or downgrade

call in to request for a waiver, I wouldn't use the card after the annual fee has been charged as it signals that you've accepted this term and as such may be liable to pay a pro rated annual fee even if you proceed with cancellation

that's what I did bro, cancelled and not a peep from them haha.

But more like I went and fly kite instead since the sole purpose of the card was to utilize 5% cashback on petrol

I got called after I've cancelled the card as well, when I told them I already cancelled, the operator literally went 'kthnxbai' on me. lol

I applied since December last year, haven't heard a peep, followed up, email says will take 21 business days from 8th March to deliver.

however was not told of any luggage offer though

for me its currently 3 months and running...

just got mine waived this morning, via Livechat after logging in to the internet banking

yup it is, due to be charged in this month's statement

yeah i had the chat before the annual fee was charged, the CS say its due to be charged on statement date, my statement date is on the end of the month

if you're angling for a citibank CC as your first credit card then yes, it's known to be slightly tougher, however, you can get a credit card from a local bank easily, use it for a year with good payment records, then apply citibank again and it should be easier to approve.

since you have a car loan, why not get a credit card from the same bank first?
