tried to call in to get annual fee waived for CB Plat, CS told me either downgrade to choice or take personal loan for 5k to waive...
I'm not sure what's their criteria for waiver but got it done last year, this year tightening up perhaps. Have always settled promptly and no outstanding every month still can't waive.

QUOTE(reanimation_84 @ Sep 18 2015, 04:14 PM) I am a pretty good paymaster myself. Somemore its my first choice card but always so much hassle getting the annual fees waived. But most importantly is that it is waived. Last time got GST also all waived. A bit of hassle but worth it. I'm a perfect paymaster yet still didn't get the annual fees waived, though usage per month is only still below 1k a month. probably too much cash back spamming I guess

QUOTE(adele123 @ Oct 26 2015, 08:45 PM) When I called in... it was 3k in 3 months. Mine is clear card When I cancelled a couple of months ago, the CS keep saying mine is not entitled for waiver, its a Cash Back Plat. When I asked what is the criteria, was just told they have a system to analyze and says system shows not eligible, asks to take personal loan or downgrade QUOTE(enticing188 @ Oct 27 2015, 08:34 AM) was charged visa platinum 636 annual fee this morning.. seriously wth? wonder can waive or not so mad call in to request for a waiver, I wouldn't use the card after the annual fee has been charged as it signals that you've accepted this term and as such may be liable to pay a pro rated annual fee even if you proceed with cancellation

QUOTE(laymank @ Oct 27 2015, 01:44 PM) that's what I did bro, cancelled and not a peep from them haha. But more like I went and fly kite instead since the sole purpose of the card was to utilize 5% cashback on petrol

QUOTE(kevin0401 @ Nov 24 2017, 11:37 AM) Hello, may i know is it very hard for me to apply for citi bank CC since i heard a lot of rumours that a lot of people got rejected . Currently i had a prompt payment history of car installment, ptptn loan that need to pay starting next year, few saving acc, salary above 2.5k . Need some advice on this if you're angling for a citibank CC as your first credit card then yes, it's known to be slightly tougher, however, you can get a credit card from a local bank easily, use it for a year with good payment records, then apply citibank again and it should be easier to approve. since you have a car loan, why not get a credit card from the same bank first?
