Well I guess I have to stay away from Asus nightmare service center since years ago.

Acer, not sure about the build quality. Lenovo seems to be not worth the value since is not running Intel Chip. (Huge fans of Intel lol)

I take Acer into my consideration. What about Toshiba/Dell/HP choice? Got? Thanks for above recommendation as well.

The Dedicated GPU will only activate if you play intensive games bro. Other than that the Dell inspiron will have longer battery duration as bigger cell.

I thought the same 4cell seems better for me as my friends priority is battery life...

Was recommended asus t300fa and while looking up the price for the laptop saw hp 11-h132tu

Specs wise
For HP:
Intel N3520
4gb ram clock at 1333
64gb ssd

Price wise around 1.4k...is this a good buy?
*
Are you sure is 64GB SSD or 64GB eMMC?

You don't really a need for a powerful graphic card for graphic designing only. A more powerful processor and RAM are needed instead. So, go for the i7 6700HQ. And add RAM to at least 12gb or 16gb. biggrin.gif

Hi I too eyeing on a zenbook, read the links below for more info.

basically i am after fhd,light,8bg, ssd laptop

i seen few good review about the zenbook core m its actually very good, its faster then i3 and very similar to i5, but for normal office, internet etc.. you will not know the difference. core m was on average 10% slower then i5 in benchmarks.
there was this one review anandtech, the core m even beats the i5 in dota2, thats only coz one was dual /single channel ram setup.
another interesting thing is the zenbook core m 5y10 version (slowest version) beats all the other competitors 5Y71 (fastest version), this is coz zenbook is programmed by asus to run much hotter (its aluminum body dissipates heat better) and their for not reduce the core speed.

I am waiting for the zenbook core m skylake version. if its not that expensive then i will get the zenbook i5 skylake version.

Well, depends, if you are tech savvy enough, shouldn't be a problem, because everyone know the legendary service in Asus Malaysia service center. Otherwise, most people opt for better after sales service like Dell or HP.

Ultrabooks are not suited to run those graphic related stuffs as those require raw power.

Most ultra book runs on ULV and does not have discrete GPU compared to some other laptops.
Which Lenovo, if you can point it out?

lenovo... jus throw 1 out of the shop... 2yr only but beyond repair... y400.. hope the new 1 not so bad quality...mobo burn.. haha... stupid user

Personal experience, Lenovo offer cheap price for superior spec except few things you need to notice.
- Bad battery life, you forget to carry charger and you are screw. (gamer can ignore this)
- Bad HD screen, even sometime FHD is TN panel where color gamut are low. (gamer can ignore this)
- Easily get hot, typing are not comfortable. (gamer can ignore this)

If you like me using at home/office more with dedicated keyboard/mouse + external monitor OR once on a while carry outside using. Usually no problem buying them.

Haha.

If no gaming, still need GTX meh? tongue.gif

Better trade that for SSD + 16gb ram and use Intel Iris only.

All this 7.1 stuffs, gimmick mostly tongue.gif

Please spend your money properly coz economy now not good.
Review says it's disappointing.

So to be safe, get an extra monitor and use Spyder 5 calibration?

Sidenote : Spyder calibration also need to maintain one.

Where to buy Spyder 5 calibration? I just know this things today.

If ain't broken, dont fix it. Don't buy, upgrade/repair it.
upgrade RAM, swap HDD for SSD, replace a new Battery.

How much price to swap SSD?

Depend your budget. I recommend Liteon s900 256gb, last time I bought at around RM 385. Swap in and replace the ODD with the HDD.

Edit: Liteon this model "s900" is a rebadge of Plextor products, so the performance on the read/write is as good as its original...
