Hi,

May I know if the Asus ROG GL552 is good and worth the purchase ?

GL552 user here. Personally, it's an okay laptop for me. The touchpad sucks, the build quality sucks, there are spaces for dust to be trapped in all around the laptop and it's a fingerprint/scratch magnet. However, the system cooling is just awesome and the best I've seen in a laptop. The keyboard is sturdy and comfortable to game and type with which is also accompanied by a really nice red backlighting. Also, the FHD anti glare display is just great.

If you were planning to get the GL552, I would recommend getting the G551JM-DM052H (This exact model) instead. It's about RM 200+ more than the GL552. For the extra cost, you will get a GDDR5 GPU, better battery life and much better overall quality but sadly I heard that ASUS stopped making that model sweat.gif

Small note: GL552 price went up from 3.2k to 3.3k according to the shop that I got it from.

From personal experience, warranty service from ASUS is a hit or miss for me. It took them like a month+ before just to replace the broken keys for my old laptop but its usually 2 weeks for the newer models now.

The old laptop was fully fixed but the new one came back with the same problem sweat.gif

Just a rule of thumb, the GTX cards (GTX 950m, GTX 960m etc) are meant for heavy gaming and will perform much better compared to the non GTX series (920m, 940m etc).

However, that doesnt mean u cant run games smoothly on the non GTX series. You might have to lower some settings here and there as well as the resolution for a smooth gameplay notworthy.gif

Generally, the higher the GPU number, the better it is. Though some will perform almost the same to an older card. (GTX 950 to the GTX 850m are almost identical only difference being the GTX 950m is clocked a bit higher).
