asus has very bad aftersales service
dell very good

thats a pity i always prefer asus laptops in the same price range.
my thinking is they are a big time manufacture of various electornic products not dell/acer/hp they oem their products.

what about after sales services for the below?

Hi, I just wanted to get some recommendations

1. Preferred Brand: Asus or anything.
2. Budget: < RM3,200
3. Usage:
- Uni: I'm going to be a game development student next year, if that helps. Not sure exactly what programs we'll be using but hopefully my (new) laptop can handle it!
- Gaming: I'm currently playing a lot of Dragon Age: Inquisition and I know I'm going be playing Fallout 4 nonstop too. Hoping to buy GTA V and The Witcher 3 soon and am looking forward to Rise of the Tomb Raider and Dishonored 2. With that in mind, I'm not necessarily looking for something that'll run those games in Ultra settings with 60 fps, but I just want something that'll run them smoothly. I don't mind medium settings and as long as I get to play without lag, I'm good
- Misc: I also use a lot of Photoshop.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size:
- More or less a 15"
- 1 TB storage
- Something with better specs than the laptop I have now. (Currently have Intel Core i5, Nvidia GeForce 820m, 4gb RAM)

what a big difference, I think i am not going to wait for zenbook skylake in Malaysia, unless one of my relatives goes to US/MY for a holiday soonish.

Now that acer V3 371 price is looking very attractive compared to the zenbooks, will decide by monday.

Is MSI really that bad? Im considering MSI PE60. Other options including Acer V Nitro because of the i7 processor. Might also opt for Dell 7559 but rn there is no stock and I urgently need a laptop.

Just a rule of thumb, the GTX cards (GTX 950m, GTX 960m etc) are meant for heavy gaming and will perform much better compared to the non GTX series (920m, 940m etc).

However, that doesnt mean u cant run games smoothly on the non GTX series. You might have to lower some settings here and there as well as the resolution for a smooth gameplay

Generally, the higher the GPU number, the better it is. Though some will perform almost the same to an older card. (GTX 950 to the GTX 850m are almost identical only difference being the GTX 950m is clocked a bit higher).

It's been a very long time since i last bought a laptop. My Toshiba lasted me more then 7 years. Now it's totally dead so I need a recommendation for a new laptop, something which can last coz I don't see the need to update to the latest laptop/hardware every 2-3 years. I don't know a good & reliable brand, model, etc since it's been a very long time since I last bought 1. I don't see any Toshiba or Dell in Kuching anymore (don't know what happened to those brands) so here's the specs that I need :

Screen size : 15" / 15.6"
Processor : i7 U or HQ (dual core or quad core)
Graphics : NVIDIA GT/GTX
RAM : 4/8gb
Optical drive : don't want or need an optical drive.
Storage : HDD or SDD (amount doesn't matter)
Usage : Work (excel, words, outlook, powerpoint, etc), Graphics (Photoshop, Illustrator), Audio (live recording, p.a system tuning, mixing, etc), gaming (during offshore).
Price range : 3.5K to 4.5K

Because Dell processing speed through the call centre is more efficient. There are feedbacks from other forumers about HP call centre. A few of them still send their laptop to pick up centre despite the onsite service.
