Hi I too eyeing on a zenbook, read the links below for more info.

basically i am after fhd,light,8bg, ssd laptop

i seen few good review about the zenbook core m its actually very good, its faster then i3 and very similar to i5, but for normal office, internet etc.. you will not know the difference. core m was on average 10% slower then i5 in benchmarks.
there was this one review anandtech, the core m even beats the i5 in dota2, thats only coz one was dual /single channel ram setup.
another interesting thing is the zenbook core m 5y10 version (slowest version) beats all the other competitors 5Y71 (fastest version), this is coz zenbook is programmed by asus to run much hotter (its aluminum body dissipates heat better) and their for not reduce the core speed.

I am waiting for the zenbook core m skylake version. if its not that expensive then i will get the zenbook i5 skylake version.

Wow! That was hell of a long helpful explanation. Good to see people making so much effort on research before buying a laptop. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Well, depends, if you are tech savvy enough, shouldn't be a problem, because everyone know the legendary service in Asus Malaysia service center. Otherwise, most people opt for better after sales service like Dell or HP.
Well I did that during my purchase 3years ago on Lenovo lappy...
*
Very good to hear that too! But most people tend to change their mind when they enter the shop. The sales assistant is usually the one that is most convincing when it comes to buying a laptop. Unless we have made sufficient research on a particular laptop. biggrin.gif

Actually I believe when it comes to laptop, it's just "buy what you like" mentality applies here.

Yes, there might be some special cases where you can get more value for your money in terms of pricing but honestly, even that is just marginally better.

So, just get whatever laptop that fits your heart tongue.gif

Or you can build a SFX and carry it around Hahahaha
*
"Buy what you like" mentality is only applicable to girls! tongue.gif

Joke aside. laugh.gif just like what you mentioned, most gamers prefer something that is affordable and a laptop that can handles graphic demanding games. Yeah, even me myself also bought a laptop with such mentality three years back. laugh.gif

thank you, truthfully I have no ideas which one I use to game on a MAC book pro 2013 late Retina display. And know I was planning to get a gaming laptop with a price range of rm 4000-5100 but I am completely new, a lot of people recommended me to get a desktop because clearly it's better and cheaper in many many ways. But the reason o chose to get a gaming laptop is because I would be moving from house to house a lot and I would like to play my games and not making it complicated by bringing  a desktop here and there and it means that I have  to get two monitors and place it at each house so that's why. Earlier there's was a guy who recommended me about ill gear at first glance I though it was a scam because judging by the specs it looked too good to be true but as I was exploring the forums it was a very famous custom laptop company and even lowyat website feature it too so I kindly ask if you could recommend which Is a better choice. Thank you

Yes Illegear can be considered as a premium product with good after sales service. thumbup.gif
If you don't mind a DOS laptop with a better GPU, check out Illegear Z5 with GTX 970M.

Budget:max RM3000
Usage :  uni work in Excel ,office etc and gaming such as dota 2 and CSGO.Often open lots of new tab in Google chrome to search information.

Preferred laptop size : not a big deal

Needed :SSD storage
Preferred: no heating issues

Plz help me to find a suitable computer sifu.
If can plz suggest several model  so I can compare the pros or cons of each of them.

Thx alot

D2 and CS:GO will not need an extremely good GPU to run, but you might wanna consider to upgrade to ram to at least 8gb for multitasking and D2 purpose. D2 eats up quite some ram also. Check out U41-70. Fulfill your requirement. After upgrading the ram should be less than rm2.7k biggrin.gif

Illegear seems not bad. Do you know which one is better between the Z5 and Q5? I'll go and play with those laptops you've suggested. Thanks!
*
Q5 comes with Skylake while Z5 come with Haswell only. But gaming is all about the graphic card. You can get a DOS Z5 with GTX970m under 5k budget. Q5 only comes with GTX960m if I'm not mistaken. biggrin.gif

Hi guys, I really have no idea about laptops/notebooks at all. I want to buy laptop/notebook for my sister as present so can you guys give some recommendation?

criteria;
- budget 3k
- moderate weight
- up-to-date hardware
- easy to carry
- brand priority; dell, hp, msi and maybe some others but NO APPLE. I can't afford them lol

optional criteria lol
- not operated by Windows 10 lol

thanks!
*
Should be around 2.7k. Upgrade to 8gb ram with your remaining budget. Should be good enough for her. If she needs more storage, consider an external HDD. Hope this helps. biggrin.gif
