Nitro and dell 7559 offer better specs than lenovo in the first place.  laugh.gif  just becareful if buying notebook from lelong, scamming cases in lelong/mudah quite frequent too. its better to do COD if you plan to buy from lelong.

3599 with that specs, very very attractive. and what model is that? hmm.gif

1. Prefered Brand - Any
2. Budget - RM 3000 below
3. Usage - Coding, Uni, Average or light gaming, Heavily on photoshop.
4. Prefered -
a. FHD, 1920x1080 screen res
b. 14 inch (maybe 15inch)
c. Good battery life for at least 4 hours
d. Intel core i5 or i7 .Also quad core processor if possible.
e. Dedicated graphics card for possibly med to high settings like Warframe, Armored Warfare, World of Tanks ,etc.

I found an attracting laptop which was Dell Inspiron 14 7447 the i7 4710HQ on the forums but can't find them in stock in most retail stores that I could find. Although there are some i5-4210H versions but was wondering what other laptops that I missed out.

Thanks.

Look no further than the UX305. SSD, 8GB RAM and long battery life will come in handy for your PhD work. More than 9 hours battery life. Since you don't do gaming, this will be one of your best work companion. biggrin.gif

Hi all. May I get recommendations choosing a laptop here.

1. Preferred brand: any brand
2. Budget: 4k-4.7k
3. Usage: study (lots of software - SAS, Surfer, Argis, PCA, WHAM, others), movie, gaming (simulation, construction and management, others)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: around/more than 14", longer life span (hope can be used > 5 years)

I'm planning to buy probably before or after chinese new year. Also any recommendation to buy laptop in Penang, Kedah?

Thank you.

reading a lot about core-M cpu today. almost all review said core-M performance is the same as a 4-year-old i3/i5 (sandy bridge/ivy bridge- same cpu as my current S7 and MBA13). so no point of buying 3-generation prior to skylake. furthermore, MathLab-equivalent softwares (SPSS/AMOS/SmartPLS-statistical analysis software needing min 1ghz CPU) are not suitable for core-M (even for core-M skylake). so now need to find ultrabook with i5-U CPUs.

Choices now

Acer Aspire v13 i5-6200U
Lenovo U41 i5-5200U
Latitude e7450 15-5200U (no inspiron due to ghost touch in reviews)
HP Envy 13 i5-6200U (over budget)

trying to get a 13inch laptop and want to use it for minmum 3 yrs

sigh....

will buy on 1/1/2016 (before price effectively increase... i hope)
