Considering upgrade my 3 years old ROG (which will "retired" soon from service to me). Getting 2nd gear in my workstation as backup. Planning to get new gear on end of Nov or early Dec (for some important event held on Dec)

1. Preferred Brand : Any brands (although I've still have doubt with ACER and ASUS itself)

2. Budget : RM 8k, expandable depending on the offers on hand to RM 10k (More than that my wallet may cry)

3. Usage : For heavy editing on photo and video editing (studio work), daily business work. Not a heavy nerd gamer but probably playing 2 or 3 games (looking for at lease @1080p with high detail set on the game; playing Blade & Soul CN & TW server for now)

4. Preferred laptop/screen size : If possible, getting a 15" but a 17" would still be considered as I travel frequently. 14" quite small for my teacup. Weigh - as long the weigh similar to my ROG (around 4.5kg), it wont matter, but the less weight is better.

For now I am technically considering to get the new Dell Inspiron, MSI, & Gigabyte line series. Any suggestion from other brand also welcome.

Thanks, now I've narrowed my choices down to Cyberforge SM-15, MSI PE60, and of course the Dell 7559. But you're welcome if there are any other better suggestions. Anybody who had/have the SM-15, a review would be greatly helpful.

3. Usage: Matlab simulation, CAD/CAE, high graphic and processing task
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15" max. less better
5. Additional information: Need 2 laptops. One must have good look for presentation purpose and win10. other one don't care.

well, i have this question for you.
would you go for old tech that same price with new tech(which is better)?   if your ans is no. then, for future investment, i will not recommend you to buy. let say you say yes, then just buy it (bif only if the model still available). it depends
