Can't pick between these three, any review for Cyberforge S-15?
Considering I get the GTX 970M for Z5 also.

S-15 and S5 has almost similar specs but S5 is more expensive.
S-15 is based on Clevo N155SD whereas S5 is based on Clevo P651se.
Based on the specs provided for S-15 it looks more worth it

Z5, I am not too sure but people have said that the OEM is Compal NL8/ xotic Phantom x1

Any opinion on these laptops?

try look for your answer here... some user using s5, and mostly are z5..

just receive my s5 yesterday. everything good so far. The reason i choose s5 over z5 is because z5 is too thick for me and i don't like their design.

Most Illegear user got Z5 S5 very little user

I got S5 as well! I also like S5 more haha it's a subtle design. Also additional 2 ram slots and 1 sata slot.

Well, the S5 is based on the Clevo P650SE/P650SG a.k.a Sager NP8651/NP8652 depending on which GPU you got. The former models are with the GTX 970M whilst the latter are the GTX 980M. You can check out good reviews for either model here for the P650SE or here for the P650SG.

My main issue with the S5 is the battery's location. That and the CPU and GPU are welded to the motherboard, which means future upgrades are next to impossible. Still in terms of overall specifications, it does offer unbeatable value.

How does the battery location bother you?
I was about to only get 960M but since I cant upgrade the soldered GPU I might as well
Simply hope it stays alive with me for years to come

I don't like that you have to remove the entire back panel to get at the battery. A minor gripe, but I suppose I'm used to notebooks that have their battery on the outside.

sm-15 and sm-17 diff RM100. which is better? don't know about those clevo thing
how about the after sales service?

I am not sure if prolonged usage of the battery will ruin its life span but I don't like the fact that the battery is non removable too

It depends on the charge and discharged cycle as long it is plug in the life span will be the same and also heat plays a role in its life span just keep it under wraps and it is good to go.

Li ion battery now has in built circuitry to make sure it is operating under optimize conditions.

z5 thicker by 3mm isit? compare to s5, gonna get my z5 in a week time
