1 It's improved alot, though I would still hesitate to use for daily driver.

2 No need AV at the moment, WP is the most secure mobile OS already.

I installed yesterday and it's pretty cool. Overall it feels much better than windows 8.1 though you're right that it's not yet suitable for daily use if you only have that one phone since many apps not working yet.

Like windows 10 for pc, the new OS just basically install on top of the original installation and most if not all your earlier app gets carry forward too and you can (technically) use them immediately.

However, app do get CTD (crash to desktop or whatever terms used for mobiles) and I'll probably revert back to windows 8.1 this weekend.

Which Lumia you installed on?

Hopefully, there's a new Insider build soon...

Great, that's one of the first 10 Lumias that will get the official Windows 10 Mobile.

That's why I decided to test it. smile.gif

Planning to get 640 when/if it comes with the new batch already preinstalled with win10 in November. Can't afford more expensive ones. biggrin.gif

I have already been using win10 preview for my pc a couple of months ago and truly excited about it (bypass win8 and I upgraded from win7). Hope that the mobile version can bring the same excitement.

The current Win 10 Mobile Preview runs well on 640, and I was told the 640 will be one of the first to get official version if you don't have it already out of the box.

I have been using windows 10 for a couple of weeks now. Few issues i encountered is that many times apps like FB and youtube I need to reinstalled. There were times when my sd card suddenly were not detected (not sure if hardware issue or windows 10) which will need we to switch off, took out the batteri take out and reinsert the sd card before it detected again. As of now I am putting all frequent apps on the phone rather the card to be on the safe side.

Anyway, maybe this weekend I will revert back to windows 8.1 but my attempt before have failed.

Anyone can give a link to a good guide of how to rollback ? I've read on few sites that for current windows 10 preview there's so issue if going to roll back to windows 8 and need to switch off few things etc.

Currently I'm on 10.0.10166.0 OS version.

The issue with apps installed on sd card belongs to Win 10 Mobile build 10166, and is reportedly solved in the new build 10512 just released. I will start testing 10512 tonight. It can only be installed by upgrading from 10166 at the moment.

Oh ok. I'll check tonight at home when got wifi whether can upgrade. Hopefully this one will be better. Since I'm already on 10166 I think I should not have problem upgrading ?

I did choose the 'slow build' though rather than 'fast build' (or something like that) when installing the OS last time.

Do you know when actually the OS will be on live ? Any exact dates ?

you won't have the update using slow ring, you need to launch the Insider app again and change to fast ring if you really want to update.

Otherwise you won't get the update for quite sometime on slow ring, sometimes they even skip updates.

I'm on 10166 as well, only upgraded like last week so feeling like using it for a few more weeks before another upgrade, I may be skipping this build. I only re-enabled the upgrade because I thought a new one is not coming out soon, I usually skip one or two builds one.

I have the SD card problem you mentioned as well, it is something with build 10166, in the release note of 10512 they mentioned that it's fixed, so if that is something important to you you can upgrade it. The problem has not occurred for quite a few days already so it's not a big deal for me.

I did upgraded to 10512 finally since my pc/laptop cannot detect my phone to do the rollback. The bug seems to be fix and so far does not encounter any issue except that when I downloaded some of my songs from OneDrive to my phone the datas are missing.

I haven't try to connect my phone to my pc/laptop yet with this build. Don't know what else drivers needs to be intall on both pc (running win10) and laptop (running win8.1). mad.gif
