Hows your experience servicing at Sell sc? How much total cost including this oil, oil filter and labour?
But i heard those that sells in Giant Tesco are imported from Euro, the oil is formulated for European weather and not suitable for Tropical climate

No such thing, the specification is based on the API standards. There is no different standard in different regions. API 5W30 is API 5W30, there is no API 5W30 Asian, Europe, America or Antarctica.

I'm thinking of upgrading the stock headlight bulbs to the best road legal halogen bulbs. Now considering Philips X-treme Vision Plus +130% or Racing Vision +150% for low beam.
How about high beam then? I rarely use it so probably won't put the expensive high performance bulbs. Any recommendation other than OEM bulbs?
*
I've tried not less than 15 models from different brands, and I gave up. Ended up retrofitting HID projectors into the lamps housing. I very rarely drive this car at night, so will most likely be fine.

But if you still want road legal bulb, X vision will be better suited for driving especially when it rains.

I found Racing Vision is only RM20 more than X-treme Vision, but the life expectancy is only half of the later. X-treme Vision is better for the life trade off.
How about high beam? Preve high beam is reflector, any good recommendation (do we have to put same type of bulbs for both high and low beam)? Both high and low beam is H7 right?
*
The difference between highbeam and lowbeam is the angle of reflection, other than one in projector housing the other in reflector. I keep my highbeam bulbs as stock 4000k temperature because they halp to illuminate the road in yellowish hue while the low beam shines on them.

My preve always jerk when going over the speed bump, been like this since day 1

For example when approaching speed bump, then break to slow down, then go over speed bump slowly, then press throttle again got the jerk. Like the RPM increase, but car delay in moving and jerk.

Especially at those car parks with many speed bump

Any idea how to solve this?

Change the engine mounting among others.

Install HID on original projector? Mind to share the beam pattern/cut-off. Thanks.
*
It's not as bad as HID bulb in reflector housing, but some lights are still scattered I reckon, hence why it's very much recommended need to retrofit HID projectors like I did. Just don't set the beam too high, 75cm at 10m length should be good.

Hi guys, wondering is there anyone successfully convert the preve cfe to turbo now?
*
Preve CFE is already a turbo variant, why need to convert?

Hi guys, need advise on the power steering rack. SC said the steering rack has come to its end, the nylon inside almost gone. Steering bush changed before, no leaking only noise when turning the steering Regardless of moving or not.

Before labor fee : recond RM 330, OEM RM680, ORI 1.1K.

Which option should I go for? What is actually recond about? I have done some research saying repair on steering rack is almost impossible.
*
You can't feasibly repair steering mount. I changed mine for RM300 labor inclusive.

resolved.

2 months ago i went to Jalan Ipoh Proton service centre, i paid RM300 for steering rack bushes.

Recently it came back more vigorously sound, same service centre did the check again said it is steering rack itself need to be replaced.

yesterday i went to another workshop, they showed me the 2 small bushes cracked and looks really aged. so at this point only can suspect proton charged me money for full set bushes but only change the main one.

Lesson: don't trust service center, i thought they are only worker don't gain any benefit only they service centre itself earning by charging premium price but this outlet maybe under table selling good parts.
*
Steering rack is not that subjected to wear and tear, that's why the mount and bushing are for.

My viper fluid nozzle gets blocked all the time.

Asked about the blockage a while ago, go advised to use a sewing needle to unblock it. The trick worked.

But then after a few days, it gets block again. I don't work/live in a overly dusty area, so I dont understand why it keeps happening.

Anyone with similar experiences?
*
Change washing fluid maybe?

I thought the service booklet say change timing belt 120K or 72 mths.
*
That's a recommendation, although the belt actual life span can last longer than that, but it's better to change it physically when it deteriorates.

QUOTE(jmas @ Jan 8 2020, 10:07 AM)
I would say, service staffs know better than then service booklet
*
Well to be fair, sometimes service rep would recommend lots of things that are not yet due to drive up sales. Happened to me a few times (not just Proton, even Mercedes as well).

their approach are prevention. just replace..
*
Which theoretically means well, but more often they would just insist on many things. For example (not at Proton), they asked me to change my tires which still had a few millimetres above the indicator notch, saying "we must change them before it reaches the indicator".

Just one example of the ridiculous cases, there are many legit considerations on the other hand. My point is users must be more savvy about their cars in and out so as not to get cheated.

Hi, any PREVE owners here has done the recall for "Upgrade Campaign CVT3 Service Fix"?

Is it any useful after this upgrading?

Yesterday, I was at the PROTON EDAR in Larkin (JB) just to buy a Stop Lamp switch (brake switch).  I was only there for about 15 minutes and later when I checked on my Invoice upon returning home, it had included the job for "000001:  PROD. UPGRADE CAMPAIGN CVT3 SERVICE FIX".

I simply don't understand how can they falsify a record into their Invoice when the job was never even done?  To all those who frequent PROTON SCs, do take note of such a scam by them.

I have already written to PROTON CARE and ask them for an explanation.  With this latest incident, I have no more confidence towards the after sales service of PROTON EDAR SCs.  I cannot imagine how can they fake a job scope into their system when it was never done on the vehicle.  Be aware to all those PROTON owners out there.  This is giving them a bad reputation.
*
Changing the brake switch would trigger changes in the system, they have to connect to diagnostics to clear the prompts. Maybe they had done it at this time, flashing update process is very quick.

Not only Preve, even Altis, City, and Myvi (just citing popular cars for the masses) didn't provide the cabin air filters.

what does those precentage means?

right now im using 215/45/17, can i use 225/50/17?
*
Too big and your tyres will scrape the arch even on small slope or pothole. You could barely minimise it with 215/50/17, but that would also touch the wheel arch occasionally.

Speaking from past experience. The best would still be stock 205/55/16 for comfort or 215/45/17 for improved handling.
