So is it good for high speed or low speed? When shld i use it?

Hi guys. I'm sorry if this has been asked before as I did search for it in previous version of the thread but couldn't find the answer.

Here it goes:

1. Wind noise above 90kmh via the small window on the rear left passenger door. Reported it during the 1k km service and the mechanic adjusted the window and adjusted the door as per written on my bill. Unfortunately it's still there. I can just make another appointment and send my car therw again which is what I'm going to do, i just want to kno has anyone found the exact location of the culprit ?

2. Has anyone done any installation of the aftermarket grounding cable ? Do you have pictures of your engine bay and where was it done? Interested of installing on my car with a good workmanship and proper cable routing.

Other than that, still enjoying trashing my Dec'16 Preve Manual through the bends especially.

My Preve Turbo is 2.5 yrs old now. After picking up my kid from school, the fan kept on running, non stop even after 20 mins. Yes, fan will run for 1-2 mins to cool down if turbo is engaged.

Went to SC and they said fan rosak. Now waiting for a replacement.

Like to know whether there are other similar fan problem with Preve. Common design problem or just my car?

I am not an electrical person but I do wonder how replacing the fan will help in my non stop fan problem. A fan will run when there is a current through it. So most likely it is the relay which has failed to stuck on (if this is the right terminology).

Now waiting for the new fan to arrive.

Hope that the fan will not stay on 24/7 and rosak my new battery!

why when i Rev around 4K-6K rpm..
my air con started to smell the exhaust.
first thought, (air circulation was off) but it stayed on

did a couple run at that particular RPM, still smell the exhaust
i did change Factory exhaust to double tailpipes. (catback exhaust)
2 months being using it, then suddenly started to smell exhaust in the car when rev it at that RPM.

how is it possible??

No fan problem or smell from air-cond yet (touch wood). However, I have had a minor problem which occurred two times. It was bits and pieces of sponge leaking out from somewhere which I suspected were from air-cond vents. The first time was about 2 years ago when I spotted a lot of small pieces of sponges, yellow in colour at the bottom of the driver's seat. Just earlier this year, there were some small pieces of these sponges on the dashboard and air-cond vents when I switched the air-cond to blow at the feet area. Not too sure where the sponges came though but they are slowly but surely leaking out into the car.

Has anybody spotted any loose small pieces of sponge anywhere in the car?

It's not tyre smell
Because the smell came from Aircon
Especially when i rev higher than 4K rpm

P.S : it happen after i did my Aircon service with SC

Driving experience. Put it this way, Inspira is 'raw', Preve is composed.

At traffic light, with Inspira you can just get ahead most cars, but in Preve, it's fun to see other cars go ahead of you, only for you to overtake them once the turbo has spooled in

For acceleration closer to the top speed range, the horsepower is more important than torque. For this reason the Preve Turbo's acceleration at higher speed will lose out to most 2.0-litre cars with higher horsepower due to the low horsepower (138hp). I believe the Inspira 2.0 horsepower would be higher than the Preve Turbo.

For acceleration at low speed, the Preve Turbo will be good mainly in the usable range ie. 0- 120 km/h. And yes, the acceleration of the Preve Turbo will is only good from about 50 km/h (where the turbo starts to kick in) to 140 or 150 km/h. After this speed the acceleration to higher speed will be compromised as the car will struggle to achieve a higher top speed due to the low horsepower. The acceleration from 150 km/h to 200 km/h is poor and for this reason, it is not worth it to push the Preve Turbo above 150 km/h.

Nowadays with many cars not only on city roads but the highways, driving at speeds in the usable range ie. below 120 km/h is the sensible choice. Coupled by high petrol price, it's good to keep the RPM in the range of 2,000 to 2,500 which is the optimal range for good fuel efficiency. Though some may enjoy fuel allowance benefits from companies and thus may not be affected by the petrol price hike too much.

Cruising speed between 80 to 110 km/h is a good optimal speed for the Preve Turbo in promoting fuel efficiency. I usually drive at around 90 to 100 km/h when on the highways and the fuel economy is good at this speed. Above 110 km/h the fuel consumption will be worse. Keeping the speed below 110 km/h on the Preve Turbo will be good, 90 to 100 km/h will be even better.

The cost is standard throughout the authorized SCs, it's just that one SC may suggest and promote additional service on top of the endorsed ones by Proton HQ. Furthermore, those differences might be contributed by services done before and after GST implementation.

That is weird though as I had asked the service adviser to exclude all unnecessary (additional) services for the 60,000 km service previously. Perhaps there must be something else I do not know.

With some cars such as the Ford Focus, the 6 services come free of charge during the purchase of the new car. For the Proton, the first 6 services would have cost about RM3,000 which adds up a bit to the price of the car. Something to consider.

Did you use 55W HID? So far into it face any burnt bulb using 35W HID.

For some reason mine blows every 2 or 3 months. Always passenger side 

It's coherently a design flaw in the electrical or wiring system, when I installed the bulbs I always wore gloves.

preve exec timing belt is change on 100k or 120k mileage.

my preve done 95k mileage, booklet say 120k change but SC told me to change at 100k during my 90k service? 

follow book or follow SC ?

for Preve, schedule to change at 120k KM base on the service booklet, but SC advise to change at 100k KM

My SC even recommended to change at 60k lol.

Screw it, I'll change at 100k.

Hi, my current tyre size on my car now is fitted with 205/55R16. The picture here says that I can fit 215/45R17 on my current rim? Or do I need to change 17 inch rim in order to fit the 215/45R17?
