TLDR; Your best chance of buying a pair is at RadioShack, it's the only place I've find that has a high chance of ready stock of AAAA. Your last resort is... ripping open a 9V battery and hope it contains AAAA like batteries... watch the video and you'll know why there's an emphasis on hope.

You could just download and use the desktop version instead of the Modern app version. which is what I'm doing.

If the current draw on your phone is too high or something it'll do that. For me I switched the cable to another one and it started working again.

Disable the auto screen brightness, I've tried many tablets > Win8, the auto brightness always goes crazy, especially when it's at the lower brigthness settings.

Buy from Radioshack, or last resort.. strip a 9V battery.

You should use something that's capable of reaching 2A, if your charger can't push enough current. Then you can try making it charge by turning off your tablet and then plugging it in. So the charger has a chance of pushing more current in than it drawing it out.
