QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Feb 29 2016, 06:15 PM) My sfp3 : Chat with Microsoft Support and explain your dilemma. if able to find part, i will upgtade it to 256 ssd. [attachmentid=6086153] [attachmentid=6086155] Or bring it overseas to Microsoft store. Usually they don't do repair but to swap to you a new or refurbished unit. Like the SP2 last time if ran out of stock, they will issue the SP3 instead. So who knows if they ran out of SP3 stock they have to issue you a SP4. |

Surface Pro Type Cover 4 with fingerprint ID is coming to Malaysia. Time to upgrade for my SP3.
QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Mar 3 2016, 08:13 PM) that will be painful experience ...... my send to repair but till now no news, remember don't ask garage section ppl, basically they all bullshitting ..... As far as I know the SP3 screen repair is hard and almost impossible for a regular repairer to do so. This my personal experience with garage con man: Saturday Arrived Imbi, that jason guy told me i must deliver to Jalan Ipoh with agree prices. Sunday he turn his word again, saying bla bla bla bla bla bla and prices increase again. (i was in imbi) than i agree. Monday when imbi he said can They have stock. i go there and wasted 5 hour of waiting, they give excuses said their part is different, as their is v1.2 and my is V1.1 (but base on google search, there is no V1.2 SFP3 screen). Tuesday he said fixing but .... Wednesday Fixing but ..... Thursday GUARANTY me tonight 8.30 but till now no NEWS. Let us know the outcome. |

QUOTE(funny duck @ Mar 10 2016, 01:07 AM) I saw it on lazada. U can purchase d no need preorder. But more expensive tho 600++. For me is unreasonable Considering SP3 does not have Windows Hello using face detection, this seems like a pretty secure and fast way to login to the SP3. I saw the price is around RM658. http://www.lazada.com.my/microsoft-rh7-000...ck-9206547.html |

QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Mar 5 2016, 04:53 PM) QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Mar 22 2016, 01:43 AM) in his place ... he wanna return me a totally none working Tablet and push his responsibility away ...... Sorry to hear about that. Well, I have met fixer like him before that promise to fix my iPhone home button, I paid RM80 for the home button fix. After the fix, my iPhone LCD has blurry faulty lines (it was never there before) and brought back to the shop, and suddenly it's my fault. I don't know where to complain so I just let it go. Apple don't want to entertain as the phone has been "tampered" with third party. He started with first lie (in house technician), than now blaming me no patient (after a month), than saying me not trying to settle with him (what he want is just me take back the casing and he called that settle that issue). Well lesson learn, I never bring expensive gadgets for third party repair anywhere, spend the money to repair at the original manufacturer or do the repair yourself. |

QUOTE(isaaclimhw @ Apr 25 2016, 02:40 PM) hey.. anybody know any alternative to replace the lcd screen for Surface pro 3? just bought a used set for one week and i ter-dropped it already Based on past forumer experience sending to third party repair, I would say contact Microsoft and pay that fee to them is the safest choice. |

Today my replacement Surface Pro 3 came, and when I opened it, the first thing I noticed is how many minor scuff on the screen under the light. Even long long scuff also got but only observed under light. I'm quite disappointed because before that my original SP3 has a screen protector and this one is like this.

I sent it back to them and it is currently now with Microsoft "under investigation", it sort of sucks that I have to go through this.
I was wondering how are other people replacement unit like, is there obvious cosmetic defects like these scuff or are your units almost brand new? |

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ May 11 2016, 03:07 PM) So far almost 2 months with the SP4 and I'm now very satisfied. Albeit the big hiccup at the start which required me to send in for a replacement and getting a refurbished, but at least it looks almost new. I'm wondering whether you get scuffs on your refurbished units. My first SP3 replacement came with many scuffs on the screen which I sent pictures and Support agreed to exchange. Performance wise I feel still below my previous rMBP 13" 2015, but only just. But the portability and functionality is a major plus. Tablet mode still sorely lacking in the apps department, but I got this solely as a laptop/desktop replacement. Especially stoked bringing it on my overseas trip and being able to play around with Photoshop/Lightroom after a day's worth of photo shooting. Also using the pen for masking/layering gives an even better sense of control, can't think of any other portable hybrid that pairs so well for avid photographers And light gaming e.g. Dota, FM2016 also performs well and smooth. A very well versatile all rounder. If there is a feature I'd like them to add for the next SP5, it'll be a USB-C port which can be used for charging as well. It'll be nice to use normal powerbanks to charge otg. And a magnetic rechargeable pen instead for convenience sake (though indication from news is pointing that this feature will be added in SP5) Windows 10 as an OS has been improving, though I still prefer OSX for its simplicity and stability. Especially a time when 150+ GB mysteriously got used up. That was a really fked up Win 10 system. Comes the super long wait of weeks which I suspect they are running low of inventory on SP3. I ask Support what's taking so long when all of a sudden they told me they shipped my next replacement. But then it wasn't really shipped as it was not collected until the following week Tuesday. I received the second replacement which still has scuff on the screen but lesser amount. First boot and it hangs. I'm quite infuriated that the screen now is yellower/warmer than my laptop/original SP3. Battery is also worst. I have brought the matter to Microsoft Support (again) and now they are escalating the matter which will take many business days just for a reply. |
