Yeah but the fact that it is also a touch screen tablet, it is susceptible to scuffs and scratches. Thus a screen protector is not out of the equation for the Surface which is not a laptop per se.

Firstly, is the seller a reputable and reliable one? Reason I say this is I doubt what he said very much cause I believe all MS gadgets are in their system already and that would be what they will base the warranty on. Unscrupulous sellers can always re-seal any items.

Suggest you check with Microsoft and give notice to the seller that you will return the unit to them if it is proven to be not new.

What are you talking about? It was stated she BOUGHT it. And the set was SEALED.
