Wonder anyone uses surface pro on local account instead of using online account?

SurfacePro4 has update 17_040_01 - wonder what update it is and do we need to install?

"I just created the MCT into USB and reinstall windows on clean installation. Wonder if future I would like reset/refresh the windows with keeping the personal files, it will be based on current windows installed files or the windows build during it was bought(old windows builds)?

Or need to delete the recovery image and update to the current one?

Note:
Saw I have 2 recovery images when I login to
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface...e&wa=wsignin1.0

First recover image = During bought
2nd recover image = Current one?

They are about 8.5GB

Some software are not optimized for surface scaling factor, even for 2017 software such as draftsight

Anyone knows how to add manually for the app/software that I need access the camera? I can't find any option at Privacy > Camera to choose the non-default app to use the camera.

When my app/software prompts to look for video source, I opted Microsoft xxx front/rear camera but it doesn't work.

May I know what software?
I'll try on my end and see how it goes
*
It is my company's software which requires to access the camera to detect my face for security login.

Treat it as normal app. When I login to the app with my name and password, the next step is, it looks for video source to access the camera and snap the photo.

When the video source windows prompts up, I choose Camera Front or Rear but the light is not on. So the camera is not accessible and thus I failed to login.

I contacted the Microsoft Live Help and they are useless. They told me Surface Pro4 was designed for windows store products and only their products can use to access the camera.

WTF.. I paid it and you do not allow me to use the camera for non-windows store app?

probably the software can't communicate with the camera api?
quite noticeable in 32bit programs installed in 64 bit windows.

my rs232 usb though detected in windows, but the software can't detect it unless install win10 32 bit.

check with your software vendor if they have a patch for surface

I've just tried paintshop pro moments ago, can't detect any imaging source.
*
I don't think it is software vendor issue.

You see paintshop also can't detect it.

Paint shop Pro is win XP era software.

Never mind la... I just use external cam.

Why Surface Pro disallows to let us install Skype downloaded from web. When I installed, it prompted me to use the Skype from Windows Store. I dislike to use that version as it is not friendly to use.
