My Surface Pro 4 kaput.

Screen froze and then it warms up. Tried to force shutdown with the power button but no response. Flipped the Type cover and left it alone. After 5 mins, still screen still lit up and frozen and it is getting warmer. Flipped back the cover to cover it and after dunno how long after it, it automatically went off and I try to power it back on but it doesn't response. Thought maybe the battery is out. Went home and tried to charge it.

Charged it awhile but it still cannot power up (no response on screen - black). Battery connector led is steady (no blinking) and keyboard seems responsive cap locks led lits up when pressed. However I noticed that it is getting warm /hot at the back.

Out of warranty. Is there is authorised place to send for servicing?

Login to your Microsoft Live Account (https://account.microsoft.com)
Under devices, choose your surface
select device info & support
Then select get support
select schedule repair

since it's out of warranty, you'll receive a quote for the repair.
but the repairs don't guarantee data recovery, if they can't repair, you'll get a refurbished surface pro

Best to call their helpline and they will assist you. Likely they will propose a replacement with a refurbished unit. Maybe can try to call them and ask if can replace for free. Worth a try.

I got hold of a 1-800 number from Microsoft Malaysia Facebook Page. Called them and spoke to a Caucasian woman and she proposed for a refurbished unit (since they do not repair) for RM2.4k for the exact same spec (mine is a i5 4GB 128GB, SP4). I will probably not go for a refurbished unit which will only be given 3 months warranty.

I will try again for the Microsoft Malaysia tech support (Rusty Nail's method above) later. I keep on missing their working hours.

That's why i am so curious. I check HN site and it's stated 4096 pressure point, so that's the new one. I talked to the sale guy that sold my SP, asked or the new 2017 pen, he confirmed the price but they have not receive the pens yet.

My 1.5years old Surface Pro 4 screen started to shake when in high load. Used to not have such problem before I did a reset. Anyone facing this problem?

Yes very common, I have already sent it for a warranty. Couldn't really use it at all for long hours of usage

Yours still under warranty? Mine they say want to charge me RM2.1k to replace the whole device which I think is stupid for a defective product. I never drop it or anything and it just end up like that. Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is really a overprice joke product. I got a first Gen iPad took still work fine today even drop 1-2 time.

Mine still under extended warranty from sen heng, Microsoft warranty already expired. Yeah..tbh it's really ridiculous consider that Microsoft didn't acknowledge the problem while atleast half of the SP4 users are experiencing this problem.

Haha I was complaining about that a few months ago, unfortunately my warranty already expired. Although i still have extended warranty with Sen Heng i think.
But removing the case and using under air con helps a bit. Don't get it as often now.
