Microsoft said that no USB-C because customer isn't ready. Those who likes USB-C loves dongles, and they provide USB-A to USB-C dongles to these customers. :vomit:

do check if your surface is still eligible for warranty by logging into your Microsoft live account.
even if warranty expire, I'm not aware of any physical shops that does surface screen replacements. best bet is to rma with Microsoft.

i contacted Microsoft, they said the physical damage is not included in the warranty services. So i have to pay RM2120 for a refurbished unit. My Surface is only 3 months old (T_T).

If i don't have a surface, yeah. I'll be super excited.

since I already own an SP4, all the cool features like surface pen, tablet mode are just gimmick that I fell for.
personally, i don't have any practical use for them. for my needs, i'm better off with a laptop
but the SP4 display is stunning though. no laptop comes close.

+1 kinda agree with u. After owning the SP4, the excitement for a new successor not really there anymore. All the features and then pen which are cool.. But in the long run I would use it no different than other normal laptop.

Yeah the adoption of USB-C is still damn slow, accessories are freaking expensive. The only good news is that Intel is going to remove royalties for Thunderbolt 3 which USB-C interface also can leverage on.

Interesting point to note, at the end of the day, most people just use the Surface more as a laptop rather than a tablet?

Ah so you project your Surface pro via a projector and write directly on the Surface?

I think that Fauzip has creative use for the SP4. His works with adobe software allot.

as for me, the most use is just getting signatures for PDF documents.
kinda expensive since i only get signature once and then copy past into other documents.

Hi, are these your price estimates or Microsoft MY official pricing? Microsoft MY has (interestingly) put up a Surface Pro (new) section in the local site even tho Malaysia (and also Singapore) is not named as part of the initial 26 countries roll-out.

Some are saying this could mean the new SP would be available in MY pretty soon.

yes, i'm using one

ms office and youtube no problem. even plays deus ex human revolution at lowest setting no lag, but it'll fry eggs at intense applications like deus ex.

ms office,autocad2002, draftsight and youtube only slightly warm to the touch

Thx for the feedback, slightly warm better then Ms Excel lag like crap in macbook air.

How about sp4 i5 core user, does it warm up with usage of Ms office?

Is it worth to wait for the new surface pro or just go for the current sp4 with cheaper price?

We won't know until the new surface pro lands here, but since they no longer include the pen with the new surface pro, it makes better value money getting sp4, especially when the sp4 has seen significant price drop, some inclusive type cover at price lower than standard sp4.

Unless you are using the surface naked, you can hardly tell the difference between new surface pro and sp4, after you've strapped in a protective cover and tempered glass screen. The ports on the new surface is the same as sp4.

if price is a factor for you, then do start looking out for deals on SP4. Am sure prices would drop as retailers start to clear stock to make way for new SP.

If price is not, then the new SP does offer a few key advantages. There's no fan for the i5 model so this means the heat issue is mostly resolved in the new model.

The battery time is significantly higher than existing model. Won't be as high as the advertised 13 hrs but 9 hrs should be achievable.

All above not key factors to those who already own an SP4 now but if you do not, then might be worth waiting a month or so.

hi guys, where can i test my type cover 4 or SP4 in kl/pj?

type cover not detected by SP4, and no light on capslock, FN keys.
Want to test the type cover on another SP4 or vice versa.
