Hi ,

i miss calculate and asked my wiremen to lay down 2 pair of cat 6 from 1st flood family hall to my tv area in ground floor

infact the maxishome broadband is pull from storeroom, hence i separately ask my wiremen to pull 1 cat 6 from store to 1st floor.

OK now the content.

Storeroom (MaxisModem + WifiRouter(alarm) -1 cat6 -> 1st floor (WifiRouter2 + Switch) --- 2cat6-> g.floor(TV+CCTV)

Is it doable ?

My wireman dont know how tp patch those cable , ask me to DIY through youtube...any advise also ?

So you have 1 cat6 cable from store romm to 1st Floor. Then from 1st Floor you have 2 cat6 cable to Hall on Ground Floor. What is the problem? What you meant by patch? Are you asking on how to split the 1 cat6 to 2 cat6 going downstairs? You just put a switch and plug all those 3 wires to the switch. Is this what you meant?

Yes. The Maxis router has 4 ports. 1 allocated for IPTV. So, 3 ports usable. Port 1 and 2 ground floor and Port 3 for 1st floor.

The wireman only need to pull only 1 cable from 1st floor to store room. He of course need to know how to crimp the RJ45 plug. Plenty of DIY online.

Is Maxis IPTV and Normal Internet using difference VLAN? or all same VLAN?

If Maxis use difference VPN, you can go with one cable only with switch that support VLAN Trunking.

assuming you dont have any equipment in the store room, better to have:
Fiber from storeroom (modem) <1 cat6 --> 1st floor (maxis modem+ switch) --> 2 cat6 --> ground floor tv area.. (1 for IPTV and 1 for internet)

If really needed help with crimping, try to look for 2-pieces RJ45 plug (the one with load bar), it is much easier to load and arrange the cable.

You should be able to use splitter and split the phone port to your alarm and phone.

you have to make sure the 2phone port is usable

coz in unifi case...the second phone port is unsable.

using spliter should be fine. else get a RJ41 port spliter which is the phone port spilter just rm1 or rm2
