Why move to Lumia???

http://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-expec...-lumia-division

Going to tutup kedai oready.

QUOTE
Microsoft is expected to announce plans for major job cuts as early as today. The cuts will reportedly involve the company’s hardware division, including the Lumia employees.

The news comes thanks to the New York Times, which is quoting unnamed sources inside the company, who have disclosed these plans. The same sources mention that this cut is on top of the nearly 18,000 people that Microsoft let go of, in the past year.

The move likely signifies Microsoft’s struggle to reposition itself under CEO Satya Nadella’s guidance, and represents another of the “tough choices” that Nadella recently mentioned in an internal memo.

The hardware division, especially the phone part, has been underperforming inside of Microsoft ever since the company bought this entire arm from Nokia in a $7.2 billion deal. The company had previously warned that it had overvalued this purchase and that a large write-off might soon be needed.

Despite the company’s efforts and significant investments over the past years, Microsoft’s Windows Phone has failed to garner enough momentum in the worldwide market, where it only accounts for less than 5% of users. Because of this, further cutbacks inside the phone division were indeed expected as a cost-cutting measure.

That’s not to say Microsoft is expected to abandon its mobile strategy anytime soon. With Windows 10 Mobile expected to launch this fall, alongside new flagship devices and a number of accessories, Microsoft will likely continue to push its products for the foreseeable future. And having a leaner hardware division, while working more with partners, may help the company achieve its goals.

To counter those tutup kedai rumours:
http://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-sa...ia-un-cancelled

From the article these are future planned Lumia Windows Phones:
Talkman (Lumia 950)
Cityman (Lumia 950 XL)
Saana (Lumia 850?)
Saimaa (Lumia 650?)
Unnamed Microsoft-Intel Project

I myself used Moto G before, now using 640 XL as well. I don't plan to go back Android anymore.

I use Windows Phone Before. If your previous contacts is on the Gmail ,
there is a way where need to linked account.

1) First , you have to get a Microsoft Email, either hotmail.com or outlook.com or live.com or 365 email.
2) Log in to your Gmail accounts, and try Export your Contact to CSV files.

3) After that, you will need sign in the Microsoft account above. Look for the "People"

4) choose the option to Import from Google with the CSV you just export.

2) Go to https://profile.live.com. and sign in.

3) Then at the top right corner you will see a "Add " , click on it and try select the service you wish to linked.

4) Follow the step and you will need go Gmail to allow the connection to build. ( please bear in mind that, off the

This I have email to whatsapp support before .

What they told as I remember , there is not support of Whatsapp transfer for one OS to other OS and
also not possible.

It due to limitation of the different OS have different DB fileformat handling and Encryption by done
by the OS itself.

The only able to migrate and possible to do it is same OS
Android <> Android
IOS <> IOS
WP <> WP

As they told, what the best they can do (but no guarantee) as they told the server may possible keep last 30 chats message cache , once you on board to other phone. It will download and restore it.

My Experience success before from Motorola Atrix 2 to Samsung ATIV S ,
1) Go in to Whatsapps , locate the "setting" option.
2) then scroll to see "Back Up chats" , hits it
3) later do whatever you wish to keep it like Email it Out , Archive It etc.
(so the files will be done, look in to the Whatsapp folder in Phone) backup and keep it.

4) when done. It a chances the Server keep you last backup chats log cache.
5) once you switch to Windows Phone whatsapp , verify etc. It will restore the last Little Backup on Server.

no, now rumoured release date is between mid-September to early October.
If you want to use, you can download the Windows Insider app to update. But I recommend you wait for official release update if you don't have another phone to fall back on

It can be be restore in wp. Just make sure u copy the whole whatsapp folder in to sd card. Then plug in the sd card to wp. In the storage sence choose all store to sd card. Then begin download new whatsapp and install it. After that run the app. Then u will see the restore button. I am throwing android and ios.. Because wp is almost the stable OS I ever experience. That is only few software not available in wp store. And also waiting for Lumia 950 XL dual sim come to Malaysia. The powerful features is about time to make change. World smaller phone plus laptop on Lumia.
