imho

how frequent u change ur engine oil?it depends on ur usage,eg my frenz a despatch who always on the road change his engine oil 1-2x a month, same bike as u

ok, if u use ur bike for normal office/class - home type, i suggest u change ur engine oil,

personally everytime i changed my engine oil,i also change oil filter, spark plug, oil treatment which is total is 20-21..engine oil price hiked! tongue.gif the breakdown r :

oil - 7
plug - 4
oil treament - 5
oil filter - 4-5

exhaust pipe - 28-32 or mayb even cheaper,
if u feel hardtime on starting ur bike using kick starter, service ur carburator - 5-8 bucks
heavy when riding - service ur engine

QUOTE(mooze @ Nov 12 2006, 09:53 PM)
for oil filter n oil treatment(how to ask the mechanic in malay for these two stuff?),does every motor workshop do this? coz i havent seen it done b4.. is the oil filter same thing as air filter??

btw,i change the oil(minyak hitam) once a month, maybe i should change twice a month but everytime i buy no less than RM10 brands... btw,i`ve nvr tried the RM20 above oils, does it really improve much or juz can stand longer?

p/s: add me in list,pls.. mooze - wave125
*
just say oil filter & oil treatment....its a common word...no need 2 translate em laugh.gif
where do u stay?
engine oil should follow ur engine watt spec...eg my kriss is 20-40w so i buy 20-40w
for me my current oil r good...engine r running smooth....brand SHELL

QUOTE(Advanz @ Nov 12 2006, 09:59 PM)
as tsg said, either post ur nick with what bike u are using or pm me with the details and i'll put it on the 1st post...that's a good idea..Thanks tsg for the idea!

yeah! its free from day 1 lyp opened tongue.gif

QUOTE(terradrive @ Nov 13 2006, 01:24 AM)
the exhaust really that cheap meh, i think it's over rm70.

I never used oil treatment, because I knew that it does more harm to the engine than  the good thing it promises. Many oil treatment companies sued by american federal trade commission (you can verify this yourself at ftc website).

For my bike I use silkolene fully synthetic oils, costs me 45 bucks for a litre of it. Your can do a research on it for the advantage of fully synthetic oils.
To know when to change the engine oils, kapcai usually is after 2000km or 3 months for using petroluem based oils. For fully synthetic same mileage but can last 6 months (except some specially formulated ones that have more total base number can last longer with higher mileage)

For the spark plug I used the Denso Iridium spark plugs, Rm50 for a piece, but you do feel the improvement in better engine response.
Oil filter is the one that filters the engine oil that's circulating inside your engine.
Air filter is the one that filters the air before it is used by the engine.
And this is my bike:
my own: Suzuki FXR 150, Yamaha SRE

my family's (mostly used by me anyways): Honda C70 round lamp, Honda CB175(repairing), Honda CD175, Honda CG125(repairing)
*
for my exhaust pipe [kriss] its 30 bucks its either OEM or local brand

Honda Wave 100 user here

[attachmentid=154631]
Have a question for motor expert gurus here. Everytime my tyre puncture, the motor shop ppl always ask me to change the tyre. saying its too thin. Thin as follow the picture. My tyre now still original from the time i buy de motor.

Is it true that bigger is better? If so can recommend which wan to get? Was hoping to find a tyre which can help me reduce my tyre puncture ratio. i dont think i need a tubeless tyre bah. my rim still good. dun wan to change to sport rim yet. probably around RM50 each can already, jb standard.

Read in previous post about Dunlop TT900. is it a tubeless tyre?
*
QUOTE(andy @ Nov 15 2006, 10:17 AM)
Don't see what's the difference in the diagram you drew. If you run over something sharp at the bigger part also it would still blow what? Like the mech said himself mar, it's too thin, not small. If your tyre as big as lorry tyre but thin like a piece of paper also no use what laugh.gif When you say puncture you mean usage puncture or run-over-nail puncture?
*
QUOTE(terradrive @ Nov 15 2006, 10:27 AM)
Then use the tubeless tires, they are thicker so probably better. You don't need sport rims to put tubeless tires, just use the tire and tubes.
*
u can use normal "finger rims" laugh.gif with tubeless, but i had enuff with it,i feel more confident & stable riding with sport rims...not just for sporty looks but imho it last longer + with a good tyre measurement some cushion effect will be created thus minimise the stress on the rims....the 1st year with finger rims or jejari i had few broken...not to mention so mafan 2 wash doh.gif ....then change to sporty with six blade arghhhh ez laugh.gif

latest trend the normal rims blade r more & neon colour tongue.gif

Malay rempit usually wears helmet and chinese rempit does the opposite...
Malay rempit usually ride 125z or RXZ and chinese rempit usually ride RGV or RGX
*
yeah i noticed the trend....

malay - yamaha,modenas & honda
chinese - suzuki
indian - honda

based on my personal observation
