you guys forgot to mention it's the trap speed, no speedometer speed. Besides, the longest straight in cubprix is like what ? 500 meters ?

past 80km/h the speedometer on most small bikes has gone whack already. Meter showing 160km/h, real speed could be as little as 120km/h.

just wanna ask 'bout naza blade 250RR..anyone using it?good?no?

The 0-60 is only 2 seconds faster than a fully loaded 1997 (first gen) honda odessey... not a very clean getaway, esp when you're revving like crazy and the honda still pulls away going up awana. That's like... wtf ? shakehead.gif tongue.gif

For 15k you're much better off with a 1995 ex500 (gpz500s, 8-10k depending on year, how fast, and how shiny) or a zx600d (14-16k).

The gpz500s is easier to do work on (if you're a DIY-er ; rocker arm arrangement makes sense compared to the ex250), and gets excellent FC (better than a 125z) for daily commutes. It's also still very relaxed at around 160kph if you're into that sort of thing. At that speed it turns at around 5500rpm, redline is 11k, power doesn't start coming in until 7k rpms (after which it really scoots).

hey carrott... just give the bike away, and buy yourself a new one. Then kuan yin will surely smile upon you laugh.gif

sakaito, keeps your eyes peeled on motortrader, cari, and thestar classifieds. Some bike shops have them, but their asking price is... quite outrageous. '93 models can be had easily for 6-8k, but you'll have to be patient to get a 94 for 8-12k.

If you have spare cash lying around, you can convert the '93 models to use 17 inch wheels from the zzr250 for under 2k - it's almost a bolt-on swap with the forks and swingarms. It's not exactly a huge upgrade but you do get wider wheels and more choice for tires.

Hehhehheh If I can I want to join you, where to meet and the time?  biggrin.gif

but 11.5k a little high, since the gs550e mostly can be had for under 10k

it's a 93, probably talking about this :

sakaito, if you're serious about buying it (no excuses if the bike's in good condition), I can be an extra pair of eyes, assuming you live around KL. I'm mostly into kawasakis but a little look see wouldn't hurt.

we can exchange contact details through pm.

at least it's your own fault.

when you just spent a four digit sum for new fairings and paintjob, and then 3 days later some $%#^^ housemate tipped your bike over, cracking all the fairing mounting tabs and ruining your shiny new paint job.. man.... you'd be so pissed you're actually gonna wish the $%$%# who did it is in the mercy of god......

Anyone bought anything from bikerz puchong? How are their items price?
*
their price is okler, about the same as those sentul shops. I've not heard of newbies having their throat cut there.

you send your bike there for servicing ?

vinn_ann, just get an index helmet. Quality quite ok for the price, lining material similar to more expensive helmets and they don't stink up (well, maybe after a year or two, but by then I've got new ones already). Even the low end swan is considered ok.

Those branded rm100+ 3/4 and 1/2 helmets are mostly for show and status symbol. If they really wanted safety they should've bought full face ones. tongue.gif

Still if you want to splurge, go ahead, it's not like you buy helmets as often as you buy petrol isn't it ?

And yes, the sentul shops are noisy. Hang out there for too long and your ears will ring, seriously. Price is ok if you know your stuff.

Personally I don't send my bike there anymore. Last time I did, lost a few screws, and some idiot there overtightened my drain plug, ruining the threads on the crankcase !

around rm40 - rm60, depending on model.

normally I tie 3/4 helmets using the metal part on the strap to the helmet lock or hook it up under the seat. Index helmets are not exactly hot items, so I dun worry too much about it being stolen... but if yours are new maybe it's better to bring it around until it acquires a few scratches.

For FF helmets, I tie the chinbar to the motorbike's grab bar with a steel cable.

dun buy bike from welly leh..expensive..plus..
my fren bought his aprilia rs125 from there..(overhauled)
guess what..they using suzuki rgv piston..not from aprilia
*
aprilia rs125 and rs250 have always been using suzuki engines and engine parts. Of course not suzuki rgv120 one lah... mean the racing bikes' one... rgv250 series.

welly offers loans. But calculate the interest rate first. In the end you're probably gonna wind up paying almost 70% more than you would getting it from a private seller.

hey stick, welcome. Ignore every other post, they're useless >XD

it seems the price for a license these days have escalated. I went to register my brother for driving school, and the instructor quoted rm1400 thereabouts for a D and B class license combo. In my days it used to be rm900. In my father's days it was less than rm500. In my grandparents' day.... ah you get the idea.

I don't recall accurately, but around rm3xx for a b2 license. B full was around 500. Crazy price.... and the syllabus sucks, the number of bad drivers around proves this. The 'big guy' quoted fuel price hike and general running cost increase as an excuse, but that much is BS. I wish I knew how to just do the JPJ test itself without enrolling in any driving school. Sigh.

an fxr150 would be a good choice for general use, esp for a first timer. It's not a hot item like an rx-z, which means it's less likely to be stolen/vandalized. It's also very fuel efficient (40-50km/liter) and can hold 110kph easy.

I convoyed with one on my zz2 all the way from negeri sembilan to kl and it was fast enough to stay in the middle and left lane. It held 120-130 all the way, though I should've probably stayed below 120, the fxr was probably at 80% - 90% throttle already. The rider later took it to thailand and back, no problems.

Only issue is that the LCD screen starting to fade due to the age of most models on the road. Most owners just install aftermarket bicycle speedos and be done with it. Personally I'd hook it up with a tzm front end including speedometers and turn it into a gs150.

rm2.5k thereabouts would get you one in good condition.

for rx-z, rm2.2k is abit expensive... but I digress...

the white bike isn't a zzr. From the looks of the tail and tank and it's probably a '00 gsx-r600 with the cowlings removed, probably. But it's definitely not a zzr1100. His screw up was not getting the front wheel straight when touching down, which lead to a tank slapper hence hitting the car. Gonna have a nasty road rash there.

the highway looks closer to an interstate in the US rather than some place in malaysia. Strange someone would put it in a thread mainly about malaysian rempits.

btw what's an ft ? Ftwo or Fthree ?
