The FXR model is regarded as a highly reliable bike, don't say 200km, I once did over 300 at one go. However you need to get a good condition bike, and I think with 3k you can get a nice bike already. Usually they sell it around 2k, some maybe lower than 2k, but condition maybe not that good.

This bike is nice for long journey, but only for single person. If you plan to carry your friend then I'll guarantee he/she will curse you because he/she will sakit buntut lol

From Bangi to Kuantan.

This bike has the normal clutch, not the same as SS2 because when you release the clutch on SS2 the engine won't stall even it is still engaged in a gear, while FXR is not.

On a full tank, FXR can go around 400kms, about the same mileage as a car, while most bike would usually have 200km mileage.

I would like to correct that,

The Yamaha 125Z uses the same system that all larger motorcycles use called the return 6 speed (or 5 speed) mechanism, basically what the other guy posted above is something called the rotary or semi rotary transmission, those dont have a hand clutch that you pull and hence the bike does not stall when in gear/no clutch active.

Hence, technically it should be "so is the gear as simple as the other one or like the 125Z?"

sorry just being nitpicky sweat.gif

2-strokers are not so good for long distance riding. A well maintained FXR150 would definitely be more lasting in a long haul ride than any 150cc 2-strokers. Some more those 2-strokers need a constant top up of 2T-oil.

I would say that Suzuki bikes does have a higher maintenance cost compared to others. Parts cost more.
