just wanna know the headcount of ppl that encountered 3 rings of light when playing GoW or screen hang/froze. pls reply here. thanks

Hmm...

Yesterday I played Gears of War for about 6 hours straight - Multiplayer Host. No air con. Nothing happened There were a few occasions of Guide lag (Where the Guide just froze. Took about 15 - 30 seconds or more to un-freeze) when I was trying to invite people but other than that everything seemed to be fine.

On a side note, I put my power brick on a shoe box for extra ventilation. I dunno if that would help or not but I've been doing this ever since I got my 360

i always believed guide lag has got something to do with bad internet connection or the server is too busy/slow to reply ur request... not the xbox itself.

So far so good.....perhaps you can tell us more about what happened to you. How long were you playing GOW? etc..

experiencing some occasional bad stuttering in GOW(like the ones u might have seen in the X06/TGS demo), playing hardcore level. not sure the difficulty level has anything to do with it or not, coz in casual level everything was fine

Zero slowdown here, smooth as silk. I feel somewhat responsi ble, since right after i sent that message through Live to you, you got the 3ROD, Alkt .

I have some lag or stuterring, think it's loading something during certian scenes that's why it's doing that.

So far so good here but there was an update when u play GOW for the 1st time.

no problems so far playing...except for a 1sec standstill during loading/checkpoint

anyway jaylike7 encountered as well, his GoW hung on him. let's wait for his reply

there was an update??nothing like that happend at my end...just popped it in and started carving a bloody path

havent been playing fast tho..so im actually just starting on act 2...i keep walk really slowly and admire the "destroyed beauty"<---- *basking in the ambience*

When I 1st put in the GOW disc ... dashboard prompted me an update .. so i updated it .. does anyone here has encountered this before ??

i only have hang problem when playing Saints Row. 2 times baby 2 times...

game hung and now my xbox is totally unable to boot up.

sad case, suspect the powerbrick didnt provide enough source.

guess i must find MetalGrindSolid for help.

Btw, US ppl also getting the 3ROL while playing GOW ... dunno why this is happening, its always happens during multiplayer.

IMHO .. I wanns try multiplayer and see what happens lor. **touch wood** nutting happens.

Hmmm....update prompts not only for GOW..but a lot of other games....mine asked for update for Oblivion and FEAR.....

Maybe they are clamping down on piracy registering games as original or something if you are connected to live. I dunno, sounds logical to me though that they force you to update if you want to play while remaining on LIVE.

hmmm weird.. it not load as game but DVD movie... WTF.. grrr.... i think sent to DJINN back. arhhhh

try ask him for help. i'm gonna get a PC PSU and ask him to mod it together with my powerbrick so that can get enuf juice for my unit. now have to wait cos no funds

heard from few forumers n my few of my 360 friends, there are cases like this happens caused by Chromehound and Dead Rising.

Seem to be happening both on the single player and multiplayer modes.

The question now is .. should I take the risk and try multiplayer tomolo morning once I reach home or should I just stay away from multiplayer .. cant decide.

The game is solely for multiplayer goodness caused the campaign mission are so damn short.

Hmmm ... still cant decide .. i know is the risk .. but izzit worth it

the lockup in multiplayer is in same console or via Live mode?
i tried playing versus on same console and it's fine

Its on Xbox Live.

I got the update as well.. was playing until act 5 edi.. left my xbox outside in the living room.. went out.. as I came back.. fired up my xbox.. I'm in act 1 I think someone selected new campaign when I was out but nvm.. the game is good, so playing it again is not a problem

Found several cure for some of the problem...

"When I play single player it will freeze every 2 or 3 minutes. I thought it was the HD, or the console or something. Anyway, when I pulled out my ETHERNET cable to my router it all stops. As soon as you put it in - even at the main screens - it will LOCK the console"

"This happened to me, except it was every 30-60 minutes of non-stop playing. I exchanged it for a new disk, and I haven't had any problems so far. (knock on wood)"

Maybe whoever affected..can try it....

well currently my 5 xbox 360 been running 12 hours whole day. running Gears of War all the time~

Multiplay and Single Player seems ok at the moment.

So is my 360..no problem at all..for both single and multiplayer...but quiet surprise when others had lot of problems...

after what happened to bro alkt and jaylike... i am worried lah when wanna play GoW. furthermore mine is 1st batch japanese set and most of the 1st batch owners dont get good ending

i got 2rol coz my bro 4got to remove the cloth cover from xbox when he played gow. after removing the cloth n reboot, all's fine. the xbox super freakin hot tho, n the fan's sound can make u sh!t ur pants

Im not sure mine is the 1st batch caused i bought it one year later ... i think

Played finished the entire GOW campaign in multiplayer co-op with a friend from casual to insane. Noticed that when I loaded up hardcore and insane, once in a while I would get a black/blank screen for a split second, doesn't happen often, got me worried when it happened >.< and at times it stutters but I guess this can be attributed to loading a new scene (hence sometimes can see blurry textures) but not sure what causes the black screen pauses.

My friend didn't run into the black/blank screen issue but it had the tendency to hang his console every now and then, this was when playing either GOW or R6: Vegas.
