ok now it seems my thread is a little hard for you guys to comment. so i'll change it since i've got a budget already. anything below 1.5k is fine. well if its necessary i can stretch it to 2k.

i wan to change the audio system to something more on powerful bass. and also replace the original audio components which i'll post some pictures to show how its like. for easy review from the u guys, the pro thumbup.gif

this small speaker is at the front at both sides. right above the air cond.
user posted image
i've seen some audio sets which came with those, but i'm not sure whether it is necessary or not. please advice

this is the speaker at the back seat..
user posted image

there is this speaker in the front i missed out earlier..
user posted image

and of course i would add a woofer at the trunk thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

my taste of music is heavy metal.

thx in advance notworthy.gif

1st ... What kind of music you go for? SQ or SPL?
2nd Kicker (K40) 4" Mid Bass Speaker? Why you need it... You want change Diamond Audio 6.5" Component to 3 way by add 4" mid?
3rd ..Becareful while buying JL Audio 12W3V2 D4 12" Subwoofer ..a lot imitation.. Why you don't consider JL Audio 12W3V3 D4 12" Subwoofer (still new ...not yet imitation guar)

some cd mp3 player.. i think its sony.. lol.. does the player really matter? and also.. i would like to get a amp with auxiliary jack input too..

and if possible.. preferably budget under 1.5k tongue.gif i will extend if its worth the money by adding few hundreds for far more better quality.

should be enough right? less than 1.5k for component, amp, woofer.

it's a healthy budget for beginner.. i've aledi pinned up some topics regarding the setup.. maybe u can go ahead and have look so that u will know how the setup runs..

basically u will need a player that provides RCA output.. about the aux input, it will b from the player.. amplifier only has 1 input which is for the player..

so.. u now can plan ur budget from speakers, amp and sub..

if you just want your car to go boom boom only
then forget about boot space and get 2 12" or above subs with a monoblock power pull enough to power them biggrin.gif

since there is some1 anti 2nd hand, so i don dare 2 anti second hand..

to fully utilize ur budget of rm1.5k (assume that ur current player has RCA output).. i recommend this setup @ the picture below..

as for speakers.. if u like bassy mid u can try Alpine Type R 6.5" component.. i'm not sure wats the price is but they r g00d bassy speakers.. as for the amp, u can get a 4 channel amp which can produce 50rmsx4 (minimum) 2 drive both the components and woofer.. maybe howiechoo can recomend u 1 tongue.gif

if u like medium strong bass (not deep), u can go for a 10" woofer o if u like SQ (sound quality setup, low deep bass) setup, u can go for a 12" woofer.. i know they r categorized like that but they do work that way.. laugh.gif (dono how 2 explain tongue.gif ) no recomendation so far bcz have not see any interesting woofer lately tongue.gif

yo bro.. i think u can check them out at those accessories shop especially brothers.. but i will not advice u 2 buy and install from brothers... o else u'll regret forever n ever.. ha! ha! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

amp installation is very important.. muz find those experience ICE installer o else u may get the freaking annoying AEROPLANE sound vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif .. n that is not the worse part... when there is this sound.. they'll ask u 2 install the suspressor that will confirm lower down the amp's sound quality.. bcz this kind of accessories shop doesn't do g00d cable grounding o maybe more...

try 2 search around n survey lots of shops for b4 u install them.. juz don "ter"use the ICE $ then can liao tongue.gif tongue.gif

well... i was thinking of this point
4ch amps are usually 75w per channel even bridged also bout 150w
and i was looking at subs the other day as they rms values were round 250w
not enough power leh tongue.gif it will still work but not optimum loh

hmmmm i recall a friend getting this

alpine 98xx HU
focal front comp (forgot which model)
6x9 eclipse (i think lar also forgot with model)
alpine 4ch amp (also forgot which model)
including installation was 3k

maybe you can use this as a base line
get a mid range HU instead of a high end wan
same goes for the amp
lose the 6x9 and get a sub (sub with box would cost round 400 bucks?)

the component has

a pair of tweeter
a pair of midbass
speakers.

if u wanna cut ur cost low, what's ur head unit ah? if it is wif RCA then u can save ur cost even more?

but 6x9's high is awful.. especially those cap ayam.. tongue.gif

i screw the 6x9 to keep the budget low tongue.gif leave the rear speakers out for now wink.gif

i sat in my friends car b4 and the 6x9 is making it noisy, she also mentioned the same thing so kind of regretting the 6x9 tongue.gif

bad idea tongue.gif i would priorities this way:
stage 1 - HU (mid range and above with min 2 pre-out
stage 2 - components for front
stage 3 - 2ch amp for front components
stage 4 - sub and 2ch amp for sub

wink.gif a cheaper option would be getting a 4ch in stage 3 and bridge it later for the sub

and if you itchy hand can use the 4ch to go active and get a 2ch for the sub as stage 5 tongue.gif

thats lots of stage to go through lol.. my main purpose is to get a pre-amp with aux so i can play with my mp3 ma.. not really gona listen to cds and radio.. but since its necessary to get a HU with RCA.. well.. get an appropriate one enough la.. doewan expensive HU tongue.gif

cuz i heard setting up 3 way speakers on the trunk(not inside.. above the trunk.. the board behind the back seats.. u know? hard to explain ~_~) will give me good sound and bass biggrin.gif
