PAC chairman Nur Jazlan Mohamed admitted that the committee had no clue where the tycoon is. He reportedly said:
We don’t know where he is.
We have to find him first.
He further added that the responsibility to track Jho Low down belonged to the Finance Ministry, as the main shareholder of 1MDB. He said:
We have asked the Finance Ministry to find him. If they don’t know where he is, how are they going to (summon him)?
Nur Jazlan also said that the ministry should be given some time to locate him. He said:
We just sent them a letter last Friday to locate Jho Low, so give them time. It has just been three days.
2. Jho Low Probably Knows That He Has Been Summoned To Testify.
Nur Jazlan alleged that Low probably knows he has been summoned to testify before the committee regarding 1MDB. He said that Low—appointed as the special adviser to 1MDB when it was still known as Terengganu Investment Authority—should have showed up on his own will as opposed to waiting till he was summoned.
The Penang-born businessman had previously admitted to acting as an unofficial consultant to 1MDB and was supposedly the middleman in the joint venture between 1MDB and PetroSaudi International.
The PAC had also summoned the directors of Brazen Sky Sdn Bhd and another individual from a subsidiary of (1MDB) alleged to have been involved in the joint venture.
3. Public Surprised That Even The Finance Ministry Could Not Locate Him.
Malaysian netizens are shocked that even the Finance Ministry—headed by the Prime Minister himself—has not been fruitful in their search to locate Jho Low.
Najib and his family, specifically stepson Riza Aziz are allegedly close to Low, with several photographs showing thm together.
