I'm just a layman who has some interest in the many forms of medicine.

I've thought about taking a course in homeopathy, but I guess age
is catching up.

Thank you for your condolences for my elder brother. I did not find out
about his condition (nobody told me) until the last three days before
he passed away in March.

He was diagnosed only in January. He had told my sister, and I was
very angry with her because she knew all the while about this, knew too
that I was well versed with alternative cancer treatment, but yet she
kept quiet.

Even a single common drug, metformin, which you can buy at any
pharmacy for just 10 cents a tablet, would have given him a fighting chance.

Many oncologists do not even know that metformin is a cancer fighter.

Dr Zuhairni is in KL. There are also quite a number of other
homeopathic practitioners in town.

Dr Tajuddin in Jln Raja Abdullah is also quite experienced.

One of them, Dr Low Boon Song, is actually a GP who has also studied
homeopathy. I don't how good or experienced he is, though.

He was running a clinic at the main road in Tmn Midah, Cheras,
but has since shifted to Jln Shelley, off Peel Road.

I think there are only two GPs in the country who are also trained
in homeopathy. The other is Dr Suriya in Malacca.

Where do you live ? You can find a practitioner in your vicinity
in the listings I have given above.

Hi,

Maybe you can do a clinical hypnotherapy session.
Clinical hypnotherapy is a method that can influence processes which are very difficult to control voluntarily. Patients with sleep disturbances can indeed be successfully treated with hypnotherapy.
Results demonstrate the effectiveness of hypnotic suggestions to specifically increase the amount and duration of slow wave sleep (SWS) in a midday nap using objective measures of sleep in young, healthy, suggestible females. Hypnotic suggestions might be a successful tool with a lower risk of adverse side effects than pharmacological treatments to extend SWS also in clinical and elderly populations.

My practice specializes in the treatment of insomnia by using clinical hypnotherapy. In fact, the success rate is high.

Clinical hypnotherapy is very effective for insomnia issue.

Fannyong8512 and other insomniacs,

Here is my sharing and I hope it helps someone.

I developed insomnia after being on Zolpidem (sleeping pills) for 1 month due to medication I was taking for my cluster headaches (rare form of migraine).

To cut the story short, The insomnia symptoms included waking after 3-4 hours of sleep and extremely difficulty to fall back asleep again. I normally sleep 7-8 hours. This played havoc on work life. Somedays I would micro sleep while driving back from work (behind the wheel) which is dangerous.

After persistently trying out insomnia fighthing techniques, I'm now 99% back to my normal sleep routine.

The route I took takes time and it was 3-6 months before I could get some satisfying sleep. Another 9 months before I got back to normalcy.

Here is my contribution and what worked for me. Remember, it may take time so hang in there.

Don't look at the clock, this puts pressure on you to sleep. Hide watches, clocks, smartphone

Read a good insomnia book for ideas and techniques that are advocated by medical professionals or clinical psychologist. A good one is The Effortless sleep method by Sasha Stephens (available on amazon). You will discover the topic about 'sleep hygiene' as a foundation to overcome insomnia. I used this book as a starter and it helped alot.

Use proven sleep aids (Google sleep aids, there are many more). One of them is listening to music/sounds like the delta sleep ones you can find on YouTube. Find one that resonates with you, I usually plug my headphones into my smartphone.
Learn key insomnia fighthing techniques. There are many and the following worked for me albeit taking time to master : 'bodyscan', 'progressive muscle relaxation', ' guided imaginary visualisation', 'proper breathing techniques' - you can Google this and there are many resources

Learn mindfulness (recommended course is bemindfulonline (you have to pay but worth it) - national health service of UK has advocated mindfulness for many conditions. There is also a free public course running in KL. There will be techniques like the bodyscan which has proven to work.

The aim is to achieve a non drug based approach to get you back to sleep. Zolpidem is only used for a short term like max 2 weeks (according to literature - please consult your doctor for further info). I hope the above info helps someone. All the best.
