Just applied the 30mbps today, installation date will be a week from now. Was told that I will get a public IP (hopefully), otherwise I need to call them again after installation. Going to disconnect my Maxis soon after the installation.

I applied Wed. They came 2 days later, Sat to install...
Depending on the technician availability, when I first installed my Unifi, the technician called me few days after, they're saying that they're doing installation in the area and checked on me if I'm available. This time, they said that they're coming next week, I haven't got any SMS yet, so hopefully they'll come earlier.

The telemarketer was lying. The quota is not being implemented, they just want you to upgrade.

BTW, the 30 and 50 mbps packages are not marketed as VIP packages. So, no VIP30 or VIP50. They're packaged for heavy streaming users, hence the expensive call/minute on all outgoing calls. I asked them yesterday why is it so, they said they've made a survey, not that many actually using the home phone nowdays.

BTW, the brochure that I got when subscribing the 30mbps doesn't say it is a VIP. Has it been renamed to VIP 30 now?

Quick question regarding the fiber distribution point. Yesterday morning, I noticed this big cement block placed outside my house and every 4 to 5 houses apart. Been waiting for Unifi to get to Aman Perdana, Klang for almost 5 years now. Does this look like a potential cement block that will house the distribution point? Please advise.[attachmentid=4780989]

Looks like the end of conduit, probably it might be for fibre.

Can I apply 30 mbps straight or do I need to be existing customer to convert?
*
Yes, you can apply straight away, just go to nearest TM Point (not dealers) to apply.

U can use AC router.

No need to go and by AC router, just get a dual band router, that will do and connect at the 5GHz band. Most recent devices should support 5GHz band.
