I plan to upgrade from 5Mb to 30Mb. Currently no more contract.

Will it be better to terminate and resubscribe? Or can just upgrade?

Will TM change new STB + BTU + Router if upgrade? Or only applicable to new subscribers?

Thx.

In TM point now. Staff say upgrade cannot change equipment. No new STB.

So I apply new.

Is it true? I want the new Android box. sad.gif

I've been using TPLINK 1043 for 3-4 years running 24/7. No problem so far.

Just get a cheap router with QoS for bandwidth control. Managed switch too expensive and overkill.

QUOTE(Kesh1018 @ Aug 29 2015, 01:56 PM)
Anyone having the speed capped at 20mbps?

Just upgraded to 30mbps package, using DIR-615 router.

I don't think the speed is capped.

If you are using WiFi to do the speedtest, the limitation might be caused by your router.

I just upgraded to 30Mbps today and when using TM router i can 30Mb easily but when changed back to my 1043ND it dropeed to below 20MBps.

If i use LAN cable then no problem.

Most ASUS / TP-Link router advertised with the word "UNIFI" on the box should support HYPP TV STB out of the box.

They have a dedicated port with another VLAN for the STB.

@Kesh1018 - DIR-615 is already N300 so 30MBps shouldn't be a problem.

Restarted router few times still same. Frustrated.

Just restarted my router and saw IP Range 1.9.xxx.xxx

New IP Range from TM? Speed is over the roof for 30MBps.

Got my Unifi 30Mb last Saturday. Had problem for a few days whereby speed falls below 5Mb from around 7-11pm.

Today's speed seems back to normal.

Check out the speedtest result in my signature.

Speedtest done through powerline adaptor on 2nd floor while wifey is streaming drama downstairs.

Although test server is in KL but the result is the best i've got so far. :feeling happy:

I also reluctant on upgrading due to 2 years contract.

But then I realized I live in Malaysia and the internet is Monopolized by TM Nutz.

I can't foresee the any game changes in the next 2 years. Even Maxis is also sitting on top of TM backbone and a lot of ppl also say Maxis sometimes not very stable.

Since there's nothing much we can do and Unifi is sort of a better choice for now, so I just bit the bullet and sign the contract.

2 years very fast wan lah hehe.

Last week YouTube is bad. Today seems OK. From 6 something until now still smooth.

Maybe TM doing upgrade stage by stage? Different location?

Ping seems a bit on the high side. Ethernet should be less than 10ms.

Try this 1200Mbps AV2 protocol. Use all 3 LNE wires for communication.
