Hi guys,
Im sorta newbie in this unifi stuff, the last broadband I got was the old streamyx over 10 years ago.
I am leaning towards signing up the unifi 30mbps plan.
After signing up I would just have to wait for them to install it right?
I can see that there are some here who replaced the router given by TM.
Would it be wise to stick with the provided router or get a new one? or the pros and cons vs getting one?
Also, is there any option without the tv packs? (eventhough I like some of the channels included in the free channels)

Thanks in advance!

Went to tm point to signup unifi. They said that since im living in an old high rise building above level 8, unifi 30mbps is not available to me... only able to get 10mbps for the same price sad.gif
Is this true?

30Mbps is available in all Unifi covered areas
50Mbps is only for FTTH

For some condo only as the cable used is not installed by TM, sometimes they worry they can't send enough data to warrant that 30mb thus they say not available.

If Time can pump 100MB, 30MB is no issue. It's all down to the condo you staying, if its still using the copper type, then possibly won't get that speed.

Can't I get 20mbps at least if I subscribe to the 30mbps?
Cos the rep at tmpoint said the max i can get is 20mbps
Seems weird that I can only sub to vip5,10,20 for the old price, whereas the new 30mbps is the same price as vip10
I'd rather sub to uni30 than vip10 for the same price if you know what I mean.
Plus the new packs have more channels too

hello, I need help clarifying things
I have signed up for unifi for my home
The contractor has contacted for date of installation and requested that I send him a photocopy of my IC to him
Is this standard procedure?
Does he really need my id to proceed with the installation

Thanks

Initially, didnt you already give him your ic while you filled up the form?

I signed up at tm point
they have a copy of my id already
I'm not sure why the contractor/ installer needs my photocopy id

I applied @TMPoint also. When the contractor came to install I just let him view the IC that's it.

Ok thanks.
I guess i'll leave a photocopy of my ic to my dad since he will be in the house during installation
I find it weird that the contractor txted me whatsapp the ic to him...

Finally got my unifi installed yesterday after 2+ weeks of them not showing up to 3 installation appointments
Managed to get 30mbps eventhough im living in a high rise building where they said it might not reach 30
So I'm lucky I guess wink.gif

However, sometimes YouTube streaming gets stalled on my mobile phone
streaming video from twitch also lags even on medium settings

I'm using stock router provided by tm
Sometimes get connection drop, ie page stops loading halfway, so I have to refresh the webpage
This is prevalent when using youtube, the video stops loading, I have to refresh the page for it to resume playing
Is this normal or hardware issue?

I assume this is a promo for new subscribers?
