According to people the 30mbps connection is not stable and the speed varies during the day and  night.

This has been confirm by a couple of my friends.

Anyone here can confirm this also?

With Unifi 50mbps, I don't encounter unstable speed (at least to local servers).
It is quite consistent throughout the day.
The ping result fluctuate a bit since the speedtest is done wirelessly over laptop at least 3-5 meters from router.

This is the speed recorded at 9.30pm night

@calvin, you should be able to get much better speed than that to US servers with Unifi 50.
Below is the speed result for me, ran less than an hour after yours, also to San Francisco server.
Could it be your IP address is not giving good speed overseas?

My local speed test result as comparison at same time though ping is not so good (then again my laptop is wirelessly connected >5 meters away from the router so maybe that is factored in).

new cheaper package incoming? 100mb for rm60?
*
I doubt it is to launch 100mb.
This seems like an announcement to officially launch unifi 30+50mbps packages (which was originally rumored to be in September).
I'm happy to be wrong though when the time comes smile.gif

Monopoly make their math fail 10 mbps and 30mbps same price

I thought they announced in the press that by mid July they will drop the VIP10 price officially to RM179.
So this event didn't announce the VIP10 price drop? What a joke.

Is this a tactic from TM for existing VIP10 subscribers already paying @RM199 to upgrade to UNIFI30 and force customers to subscribe to their HyppTV pack (Aneka/Varnam/Ruby/Jumbo)?

Seems like they are desperate to get as many subscribers to their HyppTV before it is too late. Heard that Netflix may be officially coming to Malaysia, and also we now have IFLIX from RM10 a month...so some competition there.

what hypptv pack do u have now with vip10 rm199?
*
RM199 is the official price (excl. GST) for VIP10 that only comes with the Free-to-Air basic HyppTV channels.

I was previously one of the VIP10 subscribers that continued to pay RM199 (excl. GST) for almost 2 years until I decided to upgrade to UNIFI50 last month for RM249 (+Ruby Pack for HyppTV +Free Call, excl. GST).

I wasn't lucky like others in this forum that got call from Telemarketers for RM169/179 VIP10 offer.

p/s: Don't ask me how I got Ruby Pack for RM30 and not RM40, but that was the offer I got when I dropped by TM Point to upgrade to UNIFI50. They probably raised the price later since a lot of customer go for Ruby Pack.

Mine also choking a bit at the beginning but fine afterward. Yep me too stick on 1080. My monitor cannot tahan laugh.gif  sweat.gif  4k

4k is definitely overkill today...1 minute of 4k video is ~180MB-200MB (Megabyte) or more depending on the video encoding.
Even on 30mbps, which let's say gives you between 3.5MB-3.8MB (upper limit) per sec; in 1 minute, that will only be ~210MB-230MB.
You'll be lucky to get smooth playback on 30mbps without hiccup or buffering especially during peak hours (7pm-12am).
I would think at least 40-50mbps would be recommended to get 4k videos to play smoothly with minimal initial buffer delay on youtube or any other streaming services like Netflix.
