Why not use a dns service like unotelly? much better than vpn if your main use is streaming netflix/hulu. I've upgraded to unifi 50 and no problems with streaming 4k netflix.
*
i also faced the similar issue, where upgraded to 30mbps from 5mbps when watching netflix the video quality sometime will drop to SD.

previously i use unblock-us to watch netflix, then i search around and i found unlocator. its much better than unblock-us.

but still got SD dropping issue.

Why do you want to upgrade from VIP10? The Unifi 50 I subscribed for my parents house because 8 people use internet at a time excluding guests. I found VIP20 is not enough when everyone is streaming hence why I upgraded.

My own house uses VIP10 and no problem watching Hulu and Netflix via VPN service. Only my wife and myself use the internet though since my son still a baby.
*
have you faced video quality dropping when watching netflix? sometime i can watch HD video like 30 mins then suddenly drop to SD, which its kinda annoying.

Tried it last night no problem watching HD. You use DNS or VPN service to watch Netflix?
*
im using UnoDNS by Unotelly...maybe im browsing facebook and watching netflix at the sametime will cause this problem.

Let me share my experience with you. If you have a double storey house, its best to get a wifi extender as N14UHP is still not enough. I have N14UHP downstairs but I can only get 1 bar from my handphone. But I plugged in a wifi extender and it solves the problem.
It might be different for your home but give it a try with a wifi extender first.
*
do you mind to share which wifi extender you using?

because last time i bought Asus N-66,it does provide coverage but the speed mostly reduced 50% of my original speed.

If you can afford it why don't you try Maxis Fibre 100mbps for RM330. Now that is a bargain.

Well there is the issue of coverage.

maxis will never be in my list,i heard my friends complain about maxis until i remember their speech sweat.gif
