QUOTE(biloxee @ Aug 1 2015, 02:34 PM) Help please. Where do you set DHCP reservation in the UniFi router? I want to set a specific LAN IP for my laptop. By the way, do I have to call 100 to find out my PPPOE password if I decide to replace the stock TM router? Can't find on occ.unifi.my... You can log into your router then ay the page where the password is just change the page properties for that field from password to text. This is only applicable for chrome and don't worry that setting won't stick. You close chrome and reopen and it will revert back to normal.

QUOTE(biloxee @ Aug 1 2015, 04:13 PM) Thanks got it. Btw, how do I change it? Are we allowed to change it on occ.unifi.my? Where? This has nothing to do with the website. You have to do it in the router page. It's hard to teach you how to do it here so you'll have to google it.

QUOTE(rjb123 @ Aug 1 2015, 05:06 PM) I think he means changing the actual password - I guess this has to be done by TM but it's pointless changing - not like you'll be using it frequently. For those who upgraded - to VIP 50, did they need to check available ports? I went to TM Point last week to upgrade from 20 to 50 and they told me no free ports so need to wait around a week or 2. Surely it'll be using the same port that I'm using currently? No he wants to know his password so that in the event he wants to change router he can do it without calling TM. Since the only place you can see your password is in the router setup page, I'm telling him to change the setting from password format to text format so that he cab copy it down. Chrome has the functionality to change the properties of the HTML page for local viewing.

QUOTE(biloxee @ Aug 1 2015, 05:32 PM) @GreenSamurai @rjb123 Ok Ill leave it. Btw, do you know how to do DHCP reservation on the stock router? Thanks. No idea bro. I flashed my dir-615 to dd-wrt the moment the TM guys left and have already given back the grey one to them when I cancelled my unifi 8 months ago because the new area that I am moving to no coverage yet. Eight months now without internet really can die. Am told that next week coverage will be open to us but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

QUOTE(UserU @ Aug 4 2015, 03:42 PM) Can I know what revision your router is? Mine's G3 but it doesn't seem to be supported. Kinda sucks that I'm stuck with a non-upgradeable revision. Any firmware that is compatible with it? Mine is G1 i think. Well the stock router sucks anyway so just change it. QUOTE(biloxee @ Aug 1 2015, 06:32 PM) Happy to report that the agent didnt shit me. My appointment is on the 19th of August. Can't wait haha. This post has been edited by GreenSamurai: Aug 5 2015, 11:35 AM

QUOTE(kazekage_09 @ Aug 5 2015, 05:57 PM) Although not having anymore problem, but still want to ask anyway for knowledges What is ap? What advantage it gives compared to using direct connection between modem--> router --> pc/laptop/smartphone ? AP stands for access point. It's basically a router that transmit wifi signals from the main router. It is used to expand the wifi range. Example, Point A is the router while Point B is your room. The wifi signal can't reach your room as it only reaches the middle point between point a and b. You can't move your room or the router right? What you can do now is to turn your unused router sitting in the storeroom and turn it into an AP, connect it to the main router and put it in the middle point and voila your room has wifi signal now.
