only reason i said that cause you didn't know fiber latency is better than adsl ... so...





this my 10mbps unifi to US server on the west coast.

for local the latency i got was 4ms.

a better question would be, for the 30 and 50mbps packages, will they really reach that higher (especially for dl) to us servers. For 10mbps it's a solid yes. for 30 and 50 i don't know personally so other people with it have to test it out.

guys... what is the best replacement router for unifi , i cant get full speed on wifi

Wireless AC = DLink DIR-850

not the best router out there but works good for me
connected them to my 2xRaspberry PI,NAS,STB,3 smartphones, 3 laptops. been using the DIR-850 since 4-5 months ago, no issue so far

in the occ unifi portal, where can I find the password for TM wifi? look through the whole site but can't find it

@calvin, you should be able to get much better speed than that to US servers with Unifi 50.
Below is the speed result for me, ran less than an hour after yours, also to San Francisco server.
Could it be your IP address is not giving good speed overseas?



My local speed test result as comparison at same time though ping is not so good (then again my laptop is wirelessly connected >5 meters away from the router so maybe that is factored in).

unlucky for me, applied unifi 30mb and tmnut keep delay for the installation date due to the "technical issue" that will be solve on 24 AUG being told on phone.

did anyone facing this kind of issue for new apply?

my brother apply but the people came weeks later..... this is why they are tmnuts poor customer service.

i bought mine RM150. used one
new one according to most seller in lelong would be around RM230++
as for the speed, yes i'm getting full speed.

Anyone can post screens of ping to Europe, US, etc with the new 30mb/50mb? The problem with all these upgrades, is that latency remains. If latency is same or worst, I'm happy with the 10mb package I have now. Wonder why people need 50mb...

wow very nice speeds to us

to download faster. even for .....linux distro... *COUGH .... it takes me at least 20minutes to maybe 1-2 hours. so if i'm downloading 3 or 5times more faster compared to my current 10mbps, is better isn't it ?

And it's not just that. if your place has multiple users, the net bandwidth can quickly become saturated. so more mbps to be shared between users is better.

also for some services like 4k netflix streaming, 25mbps is the recommended speed. heck even some 1080p videos @ 60fps on youtube i'm having issues streaming without too much time buffering


if all you ever just do is browse websites and just facebook, then even 5mbps would be more than enough (except for http direct download big files which benefit more from faster mbps speeds).


if that is not enough to convince, 10mbps will be the same price as a 30mbps package essentially. so why not just get 30mbps for 3 times faster download for the same price ? this is a no brainer.

But that said the 30 and 50mbps have upload reduction 30 is 5mbps upload, and the 50mbps is 10mbps upload. this only matters for people who stream on twitch, or private torrent users trying to rake in ratio for upload. or if your working from home and is important to be able to upload documents or files to a remote location. but most normal users this reduction in upload speed is pretty much irrelevant.


as for latencies why would it get worse. this and the old packages both use fiber the same technology. latencies should be the same

in my experience latencies and dl/ul to europe is much worse compared to the US.

Hi, just want to ask.. Can i go directly to tm point to upgrade my package to 30Mbps from 10Mbps? Becuase i try to ask from tm agent at lrt station and they say cannot because my current package is same price with current 30Mbps package (rm199)

Depending on the technician availability, when I first installed my Unifi, the technician called me few days after, they're saying that they're doing installation in the area and checked on me if I'm available. This time, they said that they're coming next week, I haven't got any SMS yet, so hopefully they'll come earlier.

I am currently on a VIP20 plan and living in Klang Valley area. Can I upgrade to VIP50 or is it only applicable for new application? Do I need to wait for a call from TM telemarketer?
