i've change to the 30mbps its fast in terms of downloading since in my area im the only one who upgraded but it seems custom dns is not working anymore. Now so many website were blocked. This is sad.

You will need to buy Managed Switch, and set port 25 as TRUNK / ACCESS mode (Cable from MODEM LAN1 port connect to port 25 of Managed Switch), depend what your setting, and set bandwidth for VLAN1 (Port 1-4) - 5MBPS and VLAN2 (Port 4-7) - 5MBPS. Den you'll need buy switch/wireless access point again to plug in VLAN1 or VLAN2 smile.gif
QUOTE(Sophiera @ Aug 27 2015, 07:10 PM)
Hello folks.

Is it possible for me to buy a unifi 10mb package, then partition it between two users? User A gets 5mb, User B gets another 5mb.

The reason is, I have an extremely unreasonable family member who insists on turning on torrents at max speed. Each time we tell him to cap, he throws a bloody hissy fit. Then insist on sucking up every bit of bandwidth anyway. Rest of the family cannot use internet because of one person who don't know what 'sharing' is.

Can I ask TM to set up the modem that way or something?

You mention u changed password and disconnected, seem data corrupted, suggest u call centre to restore ur occ account.
QUOTE(Spawny @ Aug 27 2015, 03:19 PM)

Its same as Switch, the one normally is 24 port switch, its internet sharing for 23 unit PC using LAN, 1 port reserved for internet port from unifi router. Here is normal 24 port switch: http://115.124.123.225/new/products/DGS-10...1024D_front.png

Managed switch is more advance switch which u can do a lot setting, manage traffic flow from which port num to which port num, and set which port num is top priority etc.. Here is Managed Switch: http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/...78-500597-2.jpg

QUOTE(Sophiera @ Aug 27 2015, 08:44 PM)
???

What is a Managed Switch?

Can also, QoS can limit bandwidth by using IP/MAC Address. But still not so powerful, user can change IP or Mac address too.

QUOTE(toytoy @ Aug 27 2015, 08:49 PM)
Just get a cheap router with QoS for bandwidth control. Managed switch too expensive and overkill.

Astro is Maxis IPTV. And Maxis use Unifi backbone. https://www.maxis.com.my/en/personal/suppor...billing/q1.html

QUOTE(tritonite @ Aug 27 2015, 09:43 PM)
First time I heard of Astro via Unifi. Thought it was just Time or Maxis.

I would be interested if this was correct.

Do you live in a landed property or apartment?

Just restarted my router and saw IP Range 1.9.xxx.xxx

New IP Range from TM? Speed is over the roof for 30MBps.

Den buy other brand router which got state unifi compatible with iptv support. Like asus or tplink brand.

QUOTE(enixcv123 @ Aug 31 2015, 03:31 PM)
But i am using IPTV, hence flashing DD-WRT firmware is not a good choice for me.
Any recommendation on the router?

Of course its doesn't make sense. Think their hub outside got problem.

Try ask them come at night since at night only got issue.

QUOTE(Seager @ Aug 31 2015, 10:04 PM)
What do you mean by speedtest is not capped?
I called them many times, but day time when their technicians come over everything is fine.

Plus they recommend me to use speedtest during the day to check too.
Why is it during day time my connection is fine but at night it's horrible? Doesn't make sense.

QUOTE(Seager @ Aug 31 2015, 10:08 PM)
Susah dealing with them
One customer service tech even said sir why don't you use through lan cable instead?
If he were in front of me I would have smacked his head.

Anyway here my opinion:-

1. Try to check whether ur wireless router is being hacked and shared with neighbor.
2. Try check whether ur family member is heavy downloading or not.
3.. Change to better router, example, Asus RT-N12HP.

OK, if changed still the same issue can call MCMC to settle ad.

QUOTE(Seager @ Aug 31 2015, 10:55 PM)
Nobody else uses this except me.
Will consider getting a new router.

He ad mention using LAN cable also same issue, so its not wireless interference.

QUOTE(raynman @ Sep 1 2015, 08:16 AM)
If that is the case, I suspect your neighbour or neighbours could have activated their wireless routers after work and
their wireless signals have interfered with yours.

You can check out the wireless signal status in your house and immediate vicinity with the InSSIDer software.

If there are any clashes with the wireless channels your neighbours are using, you can choose one which is not used by them.
