QUOTE(blacktubi @ Aug 9 2015, 01:04 PM) A dual band USB wireless adapter will do. QUOTE(acapniamaxtor @ Aug 9 2015, 01:14 PM) Hope this could help (on VIP 10) Router(tplink wdr 4300) + Network card (TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450MBps Wireless N Dual Band PCIE ) Thank you!! why it happen? is it because of too many interferences on 2.4Ghz? Many people use same frequency ? My house is landed bungalow so logically 2.4Ghz would suffice isnt?

QUOTE(lolapadia @ Aug 8 2015, 03:10 PM) Hello, does anybody know if the VIP30 available at Bandar Baru Bangi? Im currently using VIP10. When I asked nearby TMPoint about it, the staff have no idea about it. Also, today my 'internet' indicator on the modem turned red (no internet). It was okay yesterday before i turned it off. What gives? Also there was no storm whatsoever. Unifi user of 8 month. got ;a.. u go to tm cyberjaya very fast 2hour change already

Already tested LAN connection on my Tplink... can easily hit around 30mbps with LAN.... while test on wifi it only can reach around 26mbps. So confirm is the limitation on my tplink router via wifi.

QUOTE(cherroy @ Aug 9 2015, 11:27 AM) So far, there is no report that stock router cannot support 30mbps. Any router out there should be able to support 100 mbps routing based on LAN capability. While Wifi is another story. local via ethernet i doubt there is problem. but from the wifi tests i earlier in a post pointed out, it comes short of the 30 mbps.... so is not recommended for wifi internet (cause you effectively capping your ownself).

We have so many Wifi around nowadays (when scan for Wifi easily get 4-5 being broadcast around), distance, obstacle like wall, fixture may affect the speed of wifi.

My house is landed bungalow so logically 2.4Ghz would suffice isnt? Before you go and buy a new WIFI adapter, I'd try different wireless settings in your router. Also, is your laptop connected to its power adaptor when you test? I remember there's a setting in Power Options that can reduce WIFI performance to conserve power when on battery...
Have you checked the settings for your WIFI adaptor in Device Manager? There's 10 SSIDs at my place but 90Mbps is still possible on 2.4Ghz...
