Play bangi.. it’s beginner friendly. UPM can be tough even for seasoned high handicapper, even more so for beginners.

When I looked at their website, the fees were quite high. Do they have any weekday promos?

Agree with this, Bangi is a shorter course whilst UPM has long courses and many daunting tee-offs

It's weird how there is no sand in the bunkers though. Is that a temporary thing or have they given up on sand?

Probably poor maintenance I guess. I have played in some courses where the sand is so compact and hard that it feels almost impossible to dig out.

Best for beginners is Kelab Golf Diraja Kampung Kuantan (RKKGC). Cheap, no forced buggys or whatever, good layout. Unfortunately not in KL. But the airforce course in Subang is great and the police course in Titiwangsa is also suitable.

I've been playing Danau, Uniputra, Bangi and KRAT. Trying to play once a week and hit the range a bit too.

I started playing with the cheapest set I could find but I think it's time to upgrade now.

I'm looking at Taylormade AP1s but when I was looking AP2s came up too. I'm wondering if it's better to get AP1s 712 or AP2 716.
