QUOTE(tmnta @ Jun 13 2022, 03:41 PM) UPM would be more easy for beginner compared to Danau. Has been years since I last played at Danau anyway. The most recent I played at UPM was in April with a friend. Good luck and be careful with the buggy at UPM as it is not really in great condition. I found Danau very difficult. We made the mistake of playing off the blue tees. 580m is a long way. Lol

QUOTE(stuckincarbonite @ Jun 7 2022, 06:59 PM) Has anyone here played UPM? How does it compare to Danau? I'm new to golf. Just started playing 18 recently. Play bangi.. it’s beginner friendly. UPM can be tough even for seasoned high handicapper, even more so for beginners.

I played Bangi yesterday. I can see why you guys recommended it for beginners.
It's weird how there is no sand in the bunkers though. Is that a temporary thing or have they given up on sand?

You can start first with this website to gain an understanding of the various coaches and their prices. https://www.begolfpro.com/You have an option to also learn at the driving range or in indoor simulators (which is what I am doing)

Is that a temporary thing or have they given up on sand? Probably poor maintenance I guess. I have played in some courses where the sand is so compact and hard that it feels almost impossible to dig out.

Getting Started

|
QUOTE(marlikestogolf @ May 24 2022, 01:21 PM) Hey, I've been there a few times to tee off indoors with my friends and overall it was a great experience. Their simulators are pretty realistic. Friendly staff. Reasonable price and they serve good food (one of the reasons I go there) Hope this helps! Yes, I finally have been there and totally enjoyed it. Good that I not live in KL, otherwise I would be there all the time QUOTE(stuckincarbonite @ Jun 7 2022, 06:59 PM) I'm new to golf. Just started playing 18 recently. Best for beginners is Kelab Golf Diraja Kampung Kuantan (RKKGC). Cheap, no forced buggys or whatever, good layout. Unfortunately not in KL. But the airforce course in Subang is great and the police course in Titiwangsa is also suitable.

I've been playing Danau, Uniputra, Bangi and KRAT. Trying to play once a week and hit the range a bit too.
I started playing with the cheapest set I could find but I think it's time to upgrade now.
I'm looking at Taylormade AP1s but when I was looking AP2s came up too. I'm wondering if it's better to get AP1s 712 or AP2 716.
What do you guys think?

Hi all! I am a complete newbie and I am looking for golf lessons now. Is there any social/interest golf group (like badminton social group) that I can join and practice together?
