Hey guys, for the XBOX controller (new version), i think it's called ONE S or something? Can just use any bluetooth adapter? My PC doesn't have bluetooth.

Xbox One with bluetooth controller look slightly different than older controller without bluetooth.

Yes, can use any bluetooth adapter. But last time when I pair with bluetooth, it doesn't work that great.
If you going to buy bluetooth adapter, better buy wireless receiver for Xbox One controller. Look for 2nd generation one as it have better improvement and support using earphone that connected to the controller too.
In shopee selling around RM60

The photo you showed, isn't that the older model? The new model has a share button one ler, it's called Xbox controller One S or something.

Series X and S controllers has lower input lag on PC vs the older One S/X controllers. Just saying.
*
This one is it?

The models all look the same with minor differences, i spotted some sellers selling older models disguised as new model ok?

There is about a 6-12ms on average lower latency on the Series X/S controller over the Xbox One OG/S/X gen controller.

Not a huge difference, it's barely half a frame on a 60fps game. But if you play at 120fps or more, then that suddenly becomes more than 1 frame of input latency.
If you already have the One S/X controller, no there isn't really a point in getting the Series X/S version.
*
The Series X/S version, can i use usb cable to play? Don't need to put in battery right if that's the case.

Can ask u all buy this to play what games?

Is it bec its competitive advantage over using keyboard?
*
It's just more convenient to play with certain games. Also got the vibration to make things more intense.

Using Eneloop battery, so far so good.
*
Thinking to get Eneloop, it's the best one.

I think it should be AA batteries, NOT AAA. Don't get the wrong ones!  biggrin.gif

So i need a controller for fifa games.

I saw many different type of xbox controllers on lazada its really confusing

Xbox core controller  https://s.lazada.com.my/s.cKBHd
Xbox wireless with usb c https://s.lazada.com.my/s.cq0P9

And many other xbox controllers

I need clarification and guidance please which one is best
*
The easiest to identify the new ones is the D-Pad, it's slightly different. The Series X one. Careful cause i did spot some sellers selling it at Series X prices but it's actually the older model. Well, the photo shows that the D-Pad is the old model ones.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jan 29 2021, 12:23 AM)
Panasonic Eneloop is no longer the best, they're now made in China and actually does not have as many recharge cycles as the OG Sanyo Eneloop.

The best right now is the Fujitsu Rechargeable battery. FDK Corp bought over the old Sanyo factory, so ALL the technologies from Sanyo is now used by Fujitsu to make their batteries in Japan. Basically what I'm saying is Fujitsu rechargeable batteries are now re-wrapped Sanyo Eneloops, but cheaper than Panasonic's rebranded Eneloop.
Those 2 are the same. The second link comes with an extra USB-C cable.

Both of them are also wrongly named, those are the Series X controllers. There is no such thing as a "core" controller.
*
Oh perfect, thanks! i noticed the Fujitsu ones, it's all red and sakura-ish. biggrin.gif

Thanks guys. Will make a trip ltr to impulse sunway as its near me and can game instantly later. Both pricing similar after coupons with impulse 254 and the former 255 for one wireless controller with usb c

I also saw impulse selling xbox elite series x at rm749 per controller. Whats the premium about that?
*
Elite Series has some drifting issues i think.

- LB/RB bumper buttons are slightly shallower, so it conforms more to those with shorter index fingers.

- D-pad is now a hybrid circular disc instead of a + shape. Like it or not is preference.

- There is now perforated texture on the triggers, it is also matte material instead of gloss.

- Input lag is lower but only on Xbox Series X, Win10 hasn't have any driver update yet to bring it in line with XSX input latency levels.
Yes the new controller will pair with any BT adapter as long as it's 4.0 and above. However connecting with BT does have higher input lag (this applies to the older Xbox One X/S controllers as well).
*
Is the input lag very significant? Currently using the cable, but have been thinking to get BT adapter and rechargeable batteries for the sake of convenience.

Looks like you need to update the firmware?

I got a 14 day passcode from buying controller

But i dont think i use it lol
*
Yeah i have that as well. The game that i want to play is expensive on Steam and is available on Xbox game pass, was thinking to subscribe to it for a month for $1 and that's it.
Then I went Shopee and saw people selling the legit steam keys for cheap so just bought it straight out. xD whistling.gif

The latest driver is included in this Win 10 update package - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/o...f5-7be1ebec1518
So honestly, that's not new at all.

To me, input lag on BT is significantly worse than with the wireless adapter. Wired is still the best of course, but the wireless input latency with the wireless adapter is low enough that only if you play competitively then the difference matters.
*
aiyo, ok lah. Guess it's best that I still use the cable.

Yup for Windows 10, unfortunately if you want the lowest input lag - you have to use cable.
*
Thank you. I will just get a newer and longer cable la. Thought wanted to have the convenience of BT, aiyoh.

But seriously though, really enjoying gaming with the xbox controller. Still the best with PC. Have tried all the Nintendo switch pro, PS4 and etc. XBOX is still the best and seamless.

Or you could just get the wireless adapter? It's really quite good. Only ~10ms behind wired, not really a big difference unless you're gonna use the controller for fighting games (which is terrible because the dpad sucks anyway).
*
It's expensive the adapter. How about any other common Bluetooth adapter? What's the lag like?

It's a one time cost, not that expensive when you think about it since the technology is proprietary.

All BT adapters will have higher input lag than the official wireless adapter. The issue isn't the BT adapters specifically, it's that the BT connection protocol used for the controllers isn't good enough.
*
Does the wireless adapter can be used for other BT products too? Or it's really solely and purely xbox?

Believe it or not, some batteries do not provide a proper 1.2v output from when it's fully charged vs when it has only 30% left. The lower the charge there is on the battery, the lower that voltage output becomes. Guess what happens when the voltage drops? Well, if you use a headset with the controller, the audio would suddenly become weaker. Guess what also happens with a low charge? Input lag GOES UP!

This is something Microsoft will never tell you and most people won't realize it.
*
This is quite logical. No power nothing works. Easy peasy.

Ikea LADDA is also rewrapped Eneloops by Panasonic, but those are made in China instead of Japan at Fujitsu's FDK plant (which Fujitsu bought over the old Sanyo plant). Not a huge difference, but the Panasonic made ones do not have as many recharge cycles as Fujitsu's.

The LADDA is the best value though, since they're RM40 for 4 pieces of AA compared to Panasonic's which are RM55 for 4 pieces.
*
I am curious, what do you use for yourself?
Bluetooth or wired?

Interesting, im thinking if it's worth the money or not.
Wireless adapter + fujitsu rechargeable battery is about RM200+..
vs a good decent USB C cable RM30~Rm50. xD

That's up to you to decide.

I have a home theater, while a 5 meter USB c cable could connect my controller to the PC, I'd still rather be cable free on my recliner.

You are using this battery right?
