What would your spending preference be when it comes to wedding? Just want to find out what most of you prefer as some of the girls prefer their other half to buy them a better quality diamond ring. Some prefer a lavish wedding reception. Some prefer a pre-wedding PS photoshoot overseas that costs a bomb, etc.

will definitely not choose prewedding and grand reception.

would rather choose engagement ring/wedding bands OR honeymoon.

prewedding pics - if u wanna have very good looking photo, can do it in nearby in msia , there are so many nice locations to choose from , some just 30 min away - u just need a good makeup artist and good photographer. those ppl who go faraway like greece and paris to take pics, their pics, u cant see their face one, can see the eiffel tower and their body small small at the bottom of the tower onli. whats the point? cant even see your face.

grand reception - its quite silly cos you wont be able to enjoy the reception cos you will be running around showcasing your gown. u wont be able to sit down n eat and talk to your frens - not to mention 80% of the guests will not be your frens but your parents' frends. so i seriously don see the point. there is no ROI for this. grand reception's angpau collection will not be able to cover the cost of reception for sure. at most 70% of cost only. you still need to bear 30%.

rings - if you spend more on the rings which you wear everyday, you can look at it and enjoy it everyday. and if you are into showing off, that is something u can do everyday too ( i do not encourage showing off though ). and if you buy some highend rings like Lazarre, there is trade in value i.e you get to trade in the ring for the same value as you purchased provided that you buy a new ring that cost at least 2x more than your old ring. so in that sense, it is not a depreciating asset.

honeymoon - this is a holiday that you can enjoy and remember for life. why not spend more on this and go somewhere far and slightly more expensive because you wont get the excuse to obtain long leaves from your employer much. honeymooon is the only time bosses normally grant longer leaves.

would go with Honeymoon, cause hey,

after years of dating, the madness that is the wedding planning, you can finally spend the most treasured of moments with your other-half - knowing that you've strived through all that together is a reward on its on.

wedding band/ring , reception, photoshoot - all these, are just for show.

But I voted Honeymoon because spending that quality time together at the start is when you can get more solid feedback on whether it will last or not.

And that is the most important thing in a marriage. Getting married and staying married are different things.
