I do all sorts of things you would expect a uni student to do lol. I game but not competitively, eg. CS, Assassin's Creed etc. Work-related mostly just Microsoft office stuff so I'm not worried, but I do some photoshop. I'm quite a heavy multi-tasker. I would get the one with 8GB memory if it is upgradeable from 4GB.
If you dont mind Dell.
Check out Dell Inspiron 7447 series.
The Lenovo is good but hardware wise 7447 is better and also Lenovo do have QC problems as shown in other threads.
As the i7 in 7447 is a true quad core while the Lenovo is a dual core i7 and 7447 has a better GPU which in all gives better experience in gaming and photoshop.
Another laptop would be the Asus K401 while the CPU is less powerful than the Lenovo but it has better GPU.
Down side to the other laptop other than Lenovo is the slow HDD.
Don't get me wrong. The Lenovo is great. I'm just recommending others for you to choose from.
Check around the mobile computing thread on Lenovo laptops. It will give you an idea of what you might be facing.
Happy Hunting.
