Hi, I've been using Hotlink Youth Club since I first signed up years ago, and I've been a fairly satisfied customer, that is until I noticed recently that there has been a daily credit leak of 20 sen from my account, even without using. I first noticed when I returned from overseas, and found that I was RM10 poorer, so I monitored, and true enough, there was a daily 20 sen unaccounted for each day. I'm not subscribed to anything. No data, no ringtones etc.

I've tried contacting Maxis, and they said that I'm not subscribed to any plan and underlying options that would cause such charges, and that they would get back to me. I've contacted them again and again, but each time, I need to repeat the same complaint, and at the end of the day, no results.

Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you happen to have an Iphone?

I got the similar case b4 but only with Iphone, whenever i'm roaming international even though the DATA was off.

Good luck in claiming those credits back. blush.gif

You should already turn off the data access on your phone BEFORE you go overseas.

I know of some people who only turn the data access off after they reach another country, but by then some background apps would already start running once the phone is registered to a network.

Turn off Mobile Data and Data Roaming, and as an added precaution, ask your telco if it's possible to completely disable Data Roaming.

Nope, not iPhone. I'm using a Xiaomi Mi4.

Haha, yeah, thanks. I'm not too optimistic about claiming my credits back. I just want that leak to stop.

I'm on Hotlink Youth Club, and have never turned on data for my phone. Not ever.

You know what the funny thing is? My SIM was out of my phone throughout my entire time away. I only put it back in when I got back, to find I'm RM10 poorer. Ever since then, 10-20 cents credit leak daily.

Maybe cloned sim card, where someone else could be tapping on your number and credit. Check with hotlink, they should be able to trace.
