Anyone notice First Basic 38 plan WiFi quota has been upgraded from 3GB to 4GB now?
*
Upgraded also no use. Cannot even find places that can use Celcom wifi. Or either problem logging in.

Pek chek...

All the telcos are facing bandwidth bottlenecks now. Celcom charging RM20 for additional 1GB internet with their First Gold plan. Digi reduce their "Unlimited" Midnight Internet quota from 30GB to 10GB.

Bloody fucking hell...

Oh, and those of you upgrading to First Gold from other Celcom plan, get ready to be hit by penalty of 1 month's commitment fee of your previous plan.

According to them, for the 1st month of subscription, they pro-rate their charges unlike other telco who don't pro-rate, so for your last month of subscription, they charge you a full month's fee. That's fair enough la, but it's not like I canceled my subscription with them, I upgraded to their more expensive plan, give them more revenue. Fuckers. Diberi betis hendak paha.

My billing cycle ends on the 24th every month and I switched to First Gold on the 25/5/16. So, because of that 1 day, for my June bill, Celcom charged me RM38 + RM80 (excluding GST, etc).
*
yes. i had been charged for that too when i switched to first gold 80. but not bad compared to urs as urs is full one month fee charged even without a single day usage.

i ask friendly handphone shop to cut old xpax big chip and he cut to nano for FREE. and yeah new nano sim just working fine.  smile.gif

replace a new one better, cut sim card if it is not cut properly, it can cause short circuit on ur phone sim slot, and it will become not usable. it happens to my ipad 2 previously and 1 MiFi modem.

why the Celcom FIRST Basic 38 didn't have the upgrade plan?

*
no. Now the first basic 38 had become less worthwhile given the quota it has.

unless one is really using it as secondary line or really super low usage on quotas per month.

Actually the basic 38 plan is good for people who use less internet and have wifi at office or unifi at home. In the first place the basic 38 already have  200% more internet than its original quota. When the plan is furst introduce, it comes with 1Gb internet only. During promo they bump up the quota for those register during the promo period from 1GB to 3GB internet. Plus can carry forward full 3GB quota if cannot finish.

But of course the current first gold, first gold plus looks tempting. But if we do not utilise that much, will end up oaying too much or paying extra than what we actually need 😁😁😁
*
I have two first basic 38 lines and one first gold 80 line now.

One 38 is used by others, super low usage, as most of the time not in bolehland. So the low cost of this line is good.

The other two i used it myself, I kept the first basic 38 as it is quite good deal at low price and at the same time to compliment my main line first gold 80 1.0 data usage. Now with the free upgrade to 10 + 10gb per month. I think no point to keep this first basic 38 line as now I can hardly use more than that. Not to say I still have one more maxis surfmore 75 line that has free upgrade to 7gb also. One mth I person already have 27gb, cannot finish really.

Can dump this first basic 38 for saving of the rm38 monthly. rclxms.gif

Might as well subscribe to first gold plus...20+20GB. the maxis also can terminate  tongue.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif
*
you are rite actually. First gold plus to me has the best value in terms of data bundle just that it lacks of unlimited sms. However, it is still very nice plan with a lot of data to use which I tot of changi to also since it is merely rm18 more but double the data I can get.

However, even I upgrade to the first gold plus, I will not cancel the maxis surfmore 75 plan, first of all, it is a legacy plan which it is no longer offer. Most importantly, I prefer to have two different telco's data plan so I can be assured that no matter where I go, I can definitely have Internet connectivity from either one of them, for redundancy purpose.

yup, that is also true in a way to have different telco for us to stay connected...but i just use prepaid for the standby line  smile.gif haha...or else end up paying too much to telco's.
*
haha. That's also a solution. biggrin.gif

Initially my line is using basic 38 instead of gold 80 one. That time two lines maxis and Celcom i still do not pay so much.

After that realized every mth I am paying extra for calls while I was outside. And happened that that time got gold 80 plan unlimited call/sms plus more data and it is for limited time offer, so I ended up converted to gold 80 as of now.

In the coming weeks, once I had my tm unifi installed, I will need the unlimited calls even more as my unifi package does not come with free unlimited calls like what my streamyx gives now.

time to move to Maxis! blink.gif

I decided to cancel my celcom first 38 (RM38) and maxis surfmore 75 (rm68).

then convert my celcom first 80 (rm80) to this maxisOne 98 plan (rm98). biggrin.gif

with this, i can save rm88 per mth and at the same time with 20GB of data from maxis which is more than enough for me.

In any case, Maxis is definitely my no 1 choice over Celcom.

This current rm38 plan data isn't enough for me anymore, anyone know how much if I wish to upgrade to maybe 1 or 2gb more? I actually wanted to change plan but the rm45 seems not worth it, and the first gold plan RM80 is too much
*
extra 1gb is rm15. on top of basic first 38 3GB.

it is an add-on. if u add 5gb, it is rm50.

Im going to Maxis tomorrow (if my ankle is not swollen that badly) to port in too. Celcom just is not giving much value nowadays. They aint giving us any option to upgrade to 5+5 that tbe Blue are having. If you sign for Gold or Gold Plus, you still cant do anything about the supplementary lines. Unless Celcom forced First 38 all onto First Blue 5+5, I think they will lose many First 38 users.

If I goto Maxis, I may be getting 10+10 only for RM98 but in return my supplementary getting 5+5 with unlimited calls. It just does not make sense to have 2 First 38 lines anymore.
*
Yup, I had cut my first gold 80 and first basic 38 to move over to maxis one 98.

Went today and didn't port. Apparently I'm going to ask my cousin to recommend me. Current Maxis OnePlan recommend can get 1 month FOC for you if you take any One Plan, credited on 2nd and third month.
*
just tell the customer service officer on the spot at maxis centre, u just need to tell them ur cousin's phone number and name.

Ur cousin will get rm50 rebate and u will get 1 month free.

I did the same thing on last saturday when i request to port at maxis centre.
