Interested to buy a mavic for its form factor. $999 is kinda a pocket buster, any idea if there will be a standard version?

A lot of things can affect P3S wifi range. I diy'ed windsurfer, I did get a little bit of range but not much. Installed ARGTek range extender, range even worse than standard antennas.

Omg! Argtek is even worse. Then I really should invest on Mavic Pro 😬

No problem for International as well, no need permit. Airlines are more concern about the batteries than your phantom.. To make things easier for u and for them, remove the batteries and keep in handcarry luggage. Thats all

Actually, it depends on the airline. Some airlines are stricter than others, some require you to fully discharge your batteries before boarding, some don't even let you on the plane if you're carrying more than one of them

This and the fact that there isn't an easy way to charge your batteries on the go while traveling (I mean, who wants to carry around a car battery or solar cell, make USB charging happen!) kinda put me off drones for the time being

hi guys...want to ask ur opinions...i'm interested in buying a phantom 3 standard but i'm not really into photograpghy and that kind of stuff...i just find them really interesting and wanted to fly one...so do u guys think i should buy it or not?

You can just buy a cheap drone if you just want to fly...

If you just wanna fly, then try Syma.

But I scare to void the warranty?

DJI Phantom series are for aerial photography purpose, don't buy if you're not interested in photography.
Maybe you can buy a normal quadcopter instead, fully manual control and harder to learn, but I found them a lot more fun once you master it.

Fun part is taking risky shot. But for expert i guess no problem to fly above water and tight space

i think most likely it is course lock : http://www.dji.com/intelligent-flight-modes#gsLock

where after you set the camera where to go forward.. like A your current drone location and B where you pointed the camera. once locked. even when you turn the camera left or right, the course of where it will go will still be to B (as you push forward stick, pull back will let it return to A) strafe left or right is locked.

Thanks. Seen your zoom out shots before. What's the safest mode and speed to do the zoom out shot? Especially over water. See at 3:06
