Is that subtank mini u referring to? I have already give up on nickel coil for it because no matter what wire I use or what OCC I use it always get burn in a tank or 2. So end up I wrap with 28g kanthal and replace every 2 days. I guess maybe that's y they have modifications done to the RBA by opening up the juice holes. I think the juice holes are way too small.

I have successful using nickel on both of my Subtank mini. It last me about 2 week before the coil need to be change.
My setup

28g ni200
12 wraps
2.5 diameter
0.12 - 0.14 ohm
480F - 40w

Mine is at 420F 18J at 0.17ohm.

It hit my sweet spot. So far my coil is still okay and it has been 3 days.

Cotton no. Coil yes. It depend on what juice you vape.
I found creamy juice gunk up the coil faster.

I have no comment on the juice as I never try those.
Is your coil build space or micro (touching)?
Temp control use best on space coil.

So far my 2 subtank on ni200 perform the same.

You can try a twisted ni200 coil for the subtank. I use 32 awg. 30 is also doable. Twisting the wires stiffens it, but reduces the resistance by a little less than half. I usually aim for between 0.1 - 0.2 ohms for nickel builds.

No. if your coil heats up to the point where nickel degrades, thats dangerous (poisonous fumes). When the cotton and juice is in your coil, it never gets red hot.

Not trying to argue here but the previous post was definitely a vertical/chimney coil. The dragon coil is called a dragon coil because of it's wicking, it's actually just an angled coil with extensive wicking #themoreyouknow

The Subox is a starter kit . It kinda gives you the feeling of what vaping is because some people might not be able to adapt to it . Subox is a good choice .

Evic VT on the other hand is all in one that supports power , nickel and titanium . If you were to purchase that , you might not need to upgrade in the near future . The downside on the Evic VT would be battery , non removable 5000 mah battery life . Personally i prefer to charge externally .

IPV4s is a good mod , but i would say that requires more knowledge on how that things work if you were to use temperature control.  I would say , for now just go with mods without temperature control . Easier to use and maintain , less hassle .
