the coil seems to blacken and my cotton slightly burnt after 2 days of vaping.
how come some can last for a few weeks.

QUOTE(SX vapor @ Jul 21 2015, 01:57 PM) Is that subtank mini u referring to? I have already give up on nickel coil for it because no matter what wire I use or what OCC I use it always get burn in a tank or 2. So end up I wrap with 28g kanthal and replace every 2 days. I guess maybe that's y they have modifications done to the RBA by opening up the juice holes. I think the juice holes are way too small. yes. subtank mini. mod is sigelei 75W. currently is using this rba http://i.ytimg.com/vi/suCMS_D4kRI/maxresdefault.jpgThis post has been edited by sway: Jul 21 2015, 02:06 PM

QUOTE(danielcps @ Jul 21 2015, 02:22 PM) I have successful using nickel on both of my Subtank mini. It last me about 2 week before the coil need to be change. My setup 28g ni200 12 wraps 2.5 diameter 0.12 - 0.14 ohm 480F - 40w Hope it help. [attachmentid=4630440] ok. but doesn't your cotton and coil becomes black at such temperature? seems like i need to experiment more. QUOTE(sacremento @ Jul 21 2015, 02:27 PM) Not sure if it is too high.. Mine is at 420F 18J at 0.17ohm. It hit my sweet spot. So far my coil is still okay and it has been 3 days. thanks for the input. will try to experiment more.

QUOTE(danielcps @ Jul 21 2015, 02:34 PM) Cotton no. Coil yes. It depend on what juice you vape. I found creamy juice gunk up the coil faster. so far been using Rooks HD melon and Dr Brew Rude Beer. Still partly cotton burn after 2 days with my setting. Sigelei only reach 450F max.

QUOTE(danielcps @ Jul 21 2015, 02:41 PM) I have no comment on the juice as I never try those. Is your coil build space or micro (touching)? Temp control use best on space coil. I maybe wrong. Any Sifu feedback spacing bro. nickel if touching will putus very fast

QUOTE(Muffins @ Jul 21 2015, 03:05 PM) You can try a twisted ni200 coil for the subtank. I use 32 awg. 30 is also doable. Twisting the wires stiffens it, but reduces the resistance by a little less than half. I usually aim for between 0.1 - 0.2 ohms for nickel builds. Tutorial to make twisted wire without a drill --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZhFFH69XaElemme get used to normal coil for nickel first. yours is too advanced for me now. but wouldn't nickel breaks if it's sticking together like this when heated?

QUOTE(Muffins @ Jul 21 2015, 03:29 PM) No. if your coil heats up to the point where nickel degrades, thats dangerous (poisonous fumes). When the cotton and juice is in your coil, it never gets red hot. ok. noted

QUOTE(fauxfides @ Jul 21 2015, 11:16 PM) Not trying to argue here but the previous post was definitely a vertical/chimney coil. The dragon coil is called a dragon coil because of it's wicking, it's actually just an angled coil with extensive wicking #themoreyouknow i'm also not trying to argue bro just sharing but the wicking type is considered as dragon coiling so not sure if there's any difference in vertical or not. even kanger subtank occ coils are in vertical placing

QUOTE(Xander-G @ Jul 27 2015, 04:47 PM) Thanks....btw i always use kanthal and dont really under nickel setup. Usually nickel is for? TC - temperature control only works with ni200 (nickel) or Ti (titanium) wires. Since you run on kanthal, TC will not be functioning

QUOTE(vercingetorix @ Jul 28 2015, 03:38 PM) Range around Rm 350-400 budget range or is it more expensive than I thought it was you can get some starter kit to begin with https://vapeempire.ecwid.com/#!/Starter...t=addedTimeDesctake it as a guideline for pricing only. other places may vary. juice isn't included. or you can ask bro SonnyCool to check what stock he has to let go. QUOTE The Subox is a starter kit . It kinda gives you the feeling of what vaping is because some people might not be able to adapt to it . Subox is a good choice .
Evic VT on the other hand is all in one that supports power , nickel and titanium . If you were to purchase that , you might not need to upgrade in the near future . The downside on the Evic VT would be battery , non removable 5000 mah battery life . Personally i prefer to charge externally .
IPV4s is a good mod , but i would say that requires more knowledge on how that things work if you were to use temperature control. I would say , for now just go with mods without temperature control . Easier to use and maintain , less hassle .
It would be good to charge externally , safety first , my friend
