Yeah.. they're still buying this dip (or covering). Not enough horror stories yet to cause oil to pull back more.

Today, the general market is diverging away or still holding up despite pull back in oil.

itrade... i was told their IB does an entire sell suspension for any counter whenever there is a corporate exercise like that.

you can buy but cannot sell until payment is effected, i.e. enforced during contra period.

they do this because they are kiasu, had problems before with clients who thought they made a windfall like buying uwti at 2.30 and sell at 22.30.

but... can still sell if u call night help desk.
becos of this fiasco, i go from netting 2 ikan bilis to giving away 4.

i hv "caught" several mistakes over the last year!

it's complex, hard to explain...

see, all local nominee accounts don't work like bursa or foreign usa brokers, and they work diff from each other.

cimb vs hleb quite diff also.

one thing u must take note about itrade - all transactions are calculated and settled in RM, i.e fx buy determined by date of purchase and sell. in the case of a rising RM, u lose; in case of declining RM, u gain more. contra gain/loss are auto converted into RM and sent to yr bank acc., do u not notice? only when u instruct them to keep in USD trust in advance case by case will it be done; no standing orders allowed. this is NOT the case with helb.

the mistakes... once, they removed a contra gain, some manager saying it was not mine but somebody else's. well, i had to tell them to get it back. another contra gain simply did not show up in the summary, but was rectified after i told them, they said "technical error". the thing is if i had not checked, gone la...  while i am not totally upset with them, i can see they have some pretty incompetent sups and crappy IT people in the back office.

start tracking yr transactions and check against client summary everyday!

i suggest u check one particular thing - the usd-rm part.

every trade is settled in rm. unless instruction is given each time NOT to convert to rm but stay in USD, there is risk of something lost.

given usd/rm recently gone from 4.3 to 4.10, chances are there are more trades that were disadvantaged than advantaged. over time, this can be very significant. in some cases, from gain in usd, it becomes loss in rm. e.g. buy usd10 at 4.3 = rm43. sell usd10.2 at 4.15 = rm42.33. so, instead of gaining usd0.20, you lost rm0.67.
