LONDON (Reuters) - OPEC on Monday predicted global demand for its crude oil will be less than previously thought in 2016 as supply from rivals proves more resilient to low prices, increasing the excess supply on the market this year.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Mar 15 2016, 08:15 PM) itrade... i was told their IB does an entire sell suspension for any counter whenever there is a corporate exercise like that. oops....you can buy but cannot sell until payment is effected, i.e. enforced during contra period. they do this because they are kiasu, had problems before with clients who thought they made a windfall like buying uwti at 2.30 and sell at 22.30. but... can still sell if u call night help desk. becos of this fiasco, i go from netting 2 ikan bilis to giving away 4. will see how later... one thing i really hate on itrade is their slow slow response to put accurate number into the statement. It takes few days to really get the numbers right, partly because of the T+2/T+3 thing. However, on my Jupiter platform, bursa also has T+3, but they let us see the "almost correct" balance immediately after we a transaction was filled/matched. Why can't the itrade does the same thing? Very frustrating. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Mar 15 2016, 09:30 PM) ya, itrade balances are shix... i have to track my own and call them to check many times. jupiter is good for local stocks, fees are ok (all in fees around 0.15% for my usual transactions). But it's very troublesome if trading hk stocks etc. (i knew they had this last year or so, but not sure if they still have it currently). is jupiter better for brokerage fees? so, did itrade ever miscalculate on your account? I hope they don't, since i "assume" they do it right. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Mar 15 2016, 09:47 PM) really??!!!! how much different??!!damn!!!! but i really can't understand how they calculate the numbers. If I only look at the (sense making) past month's forward balance, purchases column and sales column and do the math, sometimes the final figures just doesn't matched. say, if i did some fast trading (less than T+3 days for US stocks), can i still use just the above 3 columns (months' start balance + total sales - total purchases) to get the current balance? Assuming all T+2/T+3 thing passed. The tricky part is in between there might be one or two transactions that considered as "contra", which they will get the "contra loss" or "contra gain" out without actually completed those transactions. Just yesterday, the remisor called and asked for more cash saying my account lack of cash to pick up a stock. However, by calculating the above 3 columns, I should actually have RM4k extra left in balance. I haven't figure out if contra could affect the above simplified calculation. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Mar 15 2016, 10:14 PM) it's complex, hard to explain... Shit!! Then it might be happening to me right now! Damn....it's difficult to clarified too. Sigh!see, all local nominee accounts don't work like bursa or foreign usa brokers, and they work diff from each other. cimb vs hleb quite diff also. one thing u must take note about itrade - all transactions are calculated and settled in RM, i.e fx buy determined by date of purchase and sell. in the case of a rising RM, u lose; in case of declining RM, u gain more. contra gain/loss are auto converted into RM and sent to yr bank acc., do u not notice? only when u instruct them to keep in USD trust in advance case by case will it be done; no standing orders allowed. this is NOT the case with helb. the mistakes... once, they removed a contra gain, some manager saying it was not mine but somebody else's. well, i had to tell them to get it back. another contra gain simply did not show up in the summary, but was rectified after i told them, they said "technical error". the thing is if i had not checked, gone la... while i am not totally upset with them, i can see they have some pretty incompetent sups and crappy IT people in the back office. the currency floating is fine, just few %. But the contra disappearing will be....huge!! few K there!! ok, for your understanding. if i just check the following 3 columns (as mentioned above) when looking at current month's statement page. A. "0. BALANCE BROUGHT FORWARD" B. "2. PURCHASES" C. "3. SALES" Then, I just do a simple math: A + C - B = My Final Balance. This is just to get a rough idea of the balance by ignoring interest gain etc. Do you think this is correct? By this, can I totally ignore contras? QUOTE(AVFAN @ Mar 15 2016, 10:22 PM) start tracking yr transactions and check against client summary everyday! I did. But those numbers doesn't make sense to me. I can't read them! So, I can only check if they look similar or not after few days (since their numbers updated very slow!). the monthly statement is crap, can't make anything out of it. And the remisor, when i questioned her about it, she like blur blur only... btw, all above, when i mentioned "monthly statement", i was refering to the online platform's "Report->Monthly Statement". Investing.com - Oil prices rallied to the highest levels of the session in European trade on Wednesday, after OPEC and non-OPEC producers agreed to hold their next meeting on a plan to freeze output levels in Doha, Qatar on April 17, even without the attendance of Iran.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Mar 17 2016, 01:03 AM) 8K? that is serious. ya, very frustrating. If it's true that they made a mistake, I need to seriously consider to use other platform for fast trading. Cannot use iTrade for it. I suspect it's the contra part that creates problem. But January, i did a lot of contra trades without any problem. She even need to check overnight, i guess she's also blur blur. u surely need to spend time to trace them line by line, date by date. trade less, easier to keep track. back from tv, things have softened. 60 mins to fed comments, 90 min yellen. QUOTE(AVFAN @ Mar 17 2016, 01:43 AM) i suggest u check one particular thing - the usd-rm part. But, the interest rate already "priced in" on the "2. PURCHASES" and "3. SALES" columns. I was using those columns to calculate. every trade is settled in rm. unless instruction is given each time NOT to convert to rm but stay in USD, there is risk of something lost. given usd/rm recently gone from 4.3 to 4.10, chances are there are more trades that were disadvantaged than advantaged. over time, this can be very significant. in some cases, from gain in usd, it becomes loss in rm. e.g. buy usd10 at 4.3 = rm43. sell usd10.2 at 4.15 = rm42.33. so, instead of gaining usd0.20, you lost rm0.67. |
